July 2009 Archives

scarlettpink.jpgScarlett Johansson arrived at Comic Con 2009 in San Diego in a barely blush pink shade that we just adore. It looks like the popular color to wear with this is black - a belt, heels, tights...you get the idea.

Summer Trendspotting: Whitney Port's Animal Prints

comments
animalgladiator.jpgGet a simple dress in a bold animal print and add a pair of gladiator sandals and a a big piece of jewelry and you have got a simple and chic look for a summer party. Whitney Port does this incredibly well, of course, she worked at Diane von Furstenberg...so she probably learned a thing or two from DVF herself about dressing in a way that's sexy and still classy.

Summer Trendspotting: Reese Witherspoon's Little White Dress

comments
littlewhitedress.jpgReese Witherspoon has her lwd. Have you got yours?

For night, every gal needs a lbd (little black dress) in her closet. But for day, what could be more perfect and summery than a knee-length, flowy little white dress? Wear it as a coverup at the pool, or accessorize it like Reese did for shopping on a really hot day. Or, pair it with heels and a large colorful belt for a dressed up look.

What Does Martha Stewart Wear To Costco?

comments
marthacostco.jpg
And more importantly, does she eat the samples?

Apparently, when Martha Stewart goes to Costco, she wears white trousers and a navy blue shirt with ruffle details. Looking good Martha!

By the way, she was there to sign copies of her new cupcake book...not actually shop for groceries.

Summer Trends: Mens-Inspired Oxfords Like Sienna Miller's

comments
siennaoxfords.jpg
Sienna Miller can look good in practically anything and we so admire her fashion risk taking. However, we think ANYONE can pull off these oxfords. Sure, they've been around for a season or two, we thought they were a little strange at first. And we admit, we were not up for the challenge of wearing them because we had no clue what to wear them with.

But Sienna proves that just because we're wearing menswear on our feet doesn't mean we have to wear a menswear look from head to toe to wear this trend. The easy way to wear these (and why wouldn't you want to, don't they look comfy?) is to pair them with your everyday feminine staples - skinny jeans, a floral print skirt or cuffed shorts.

Then in the fall, if you're feeling brave, go for it and pair them with wide-leg denim, a white men's shirt, a vest, a tweed jacket...the works.
