It's very easy to recognize a Herve Leger dress. They're skintight strips of fabric (usually a silk satin) wrapped and criss-crossed every which where. At a recent Whitney art party and auction in New York City. Rachel Bilson rocked her look with confidence to spare, but it was Barbara Bush who surprised us, posing for the camera with Max Azria himself. Is Herve Leger appropriate first lady attire? Apparently!

Celebrities are getting more and more daring when it comes to personal style. Take this year's CFDA Fashion Awards in New York City. Hardly anyone played it safe. Ashley Olsen and Maggie Gyllenhaal really stepped out of the box. Our favorite was Katie Lee Joel's ruffled blouse and tiered skirt. And Victoria Beckham was the show stopper of the night, walking on the arm of Marc Jacobs (who was nominated many times over for his designs) and wearing a dress he created out of fabric hearts.
Anna Wintour (she looked great actually), Ashley Olsen (why did she go?), Patricia Field (the movie's stylist), and Lauren Bush (carrying her Feed bag was a shameless attempt for free publicity).
