We love, love, love the cut out neckline of this Stella McCartney dress (and obviously so did Rachel McAdams), but we sort of like the full ballgown effect of the original dress, particularly how it puddles on the floor.
Couldn't Rach have worn this dress as is somewhere?

I totally agree, the original design is very classy , feminin and so lady-like . I love every thing from Stella McCartny ( and from her legend Sir Paul father as well ;) She has her own English unique style . When the dress was cropped it looked a bit tacky....
