Trendspotting: so many celebs are loving leather shorts!

Leather is typically known as a pretty tough, rocker texturel. But in the case of the celebs we've spotted wearing leather shorts as of late, it's gone in a much more chic, sophisticated, upscale direction.

Take, for instance, Olivia Palermo, who sported her Tibi pair with a grey button-down and sparkly clutch. Or Rachel Bilson, whose Chanel minishorts looked fabulous with a head-to-toe Chanel ensemble and Christian Louboutin black pumps. And who could forget Jennifer Lopez, whose head-to-toe black ensemble centered around Chloe leather shorts and finished with Brian Atwood leopard-print pumps?

One thing's for certain: leather shorts are certainly on the chic, sophisticated side these days!
