Glitz and glamour certainly prevailed at the Oscars last night. Neutrals ruled the red carpet with pops of color coming mainly in shades of red and pink. Embellishments and ruffles were once again popular and stars sparkled in a variety of statement jewelry. Here’s an overview of some of the night’s fashions.

Anne-Hathaway-Oscars-2013-Los-Angeles-Feb-2013.jpgJennifer-Lawrence-Oscars-2013-Los-Angeles.jpgJessica-Chastain-Oscars-2013-Los-Angeles.jpg

Anne Hathaway accepted her Oscar in this pale pink Prada column gown. Tiffany & Co. jewelry wrapped up the look. It wasn’t surprising that Jennifer Lawrence selected a Christian Dior Couture creation for the big event since she’s the face of the fashion house’s latest campaign. She accessorized with Chopard jewels, a Roger Vivier clutch and Brian Atwood shoes. Jessica Chastain shined in a custom Armani Privé embellished gown. Harry Winston gems and Christian Louboutin heels finished off her look.

Amy-Adams-Oscars-2013-Los-Angeles.jpgCharlize-Theron-Oscars-2013-Los-Angeles-Feb-2013.jpgSandra-Bullock-Oscars-2013-Los-Angeles.jpg

Amy Adams impressed on the red carpet in a dramatic Oscar de la Renta gown. Moa jewelry polished off her captivating look. Charlize Theron opted for a structured Christian Dior Couture white gown featuring an embroidered peplum. Harry Winston jewels and Roger Vivier footwear completed the look. Elie Saab was behind Sandra Bullock’s embellished Spring 2013 Couture black gown. Harry Winston gems and a Swarovski clutch served as accessories.

Amanda-Seyfried-Oscars-2013-Los-Angeles.jpgJennifer-Garner-Oscars-2013-Los-Angeles.jpgReese-Witherspoon-Oscars-2013-Los-Angeles.jpg

Amanda Seyfried’s custom Alexander McQueen embroidered lilac halter gown included a keyhole detail. Her jewelry was by Lorraine Schwartz, while Roger Vivier was behind her sandals. Jennifer Garner was hard to miss on the red carpet thanks to her purple custom Gucci ruffled gown. She rounded out the look with a Roger Vivier clutch and Neil Lane jewels. Louis Vuitton’s blue strapless gown with black trim was Reese Witherspoon’s pick for the awards. Christian Louboutin Very Prive pumps capped off the look.

We love Amy Adams’ Oscar de la Renta, Jennifer Garner’s gorgeous Gucci and Jessica Chastain’s dynamic Armani Privé. Which star was your favorite?

It was another night of stylish gowns as celebs hit the red carpet for the Golden Globe Awards. There was certainly a lot of color on display and stars embraced embellishments hoping to stand out from the fashionable crowd. Plunging necklines, strapless silhouettes and floral prints all made notable appearances. Here are some highlights from last night.

Nicole-Richie-2013-Golden-Globes.jpgZooey-Deschanel-2013-Golden-Globes.jpgJennifer-lawrence-2013-Golden-Globes.jpg

Nicole Richie simply stunned in this light blue Naeem Khan Spring 2013 embroidered gown accented with a fringed House of Harlow 1960 bag. Zooey Deschanel stuck with her go-to retro vibe by wearing a red Oscar de la Renta strapless gown. The New Girl star finished off the look with Kwiat jewelry. Another actress in red was Jennifer Lawrence who won for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook. She styled her strapless Christian Dior Fall 2012 Couture gown with a metallic belt and a Salvatore Ferragamo clutch.

Jennifer-Lopez-2013-Golden-Globes.jpgTaylor-Swift-2013-Golden-Globes-ed.jpgJessica-Chastain-2013-Golden-Globes.jpg

Jennifer Lopez opted for a lacy Zuhair Murad gown combined with Le Vian jewels. It was a dramatic plum-colored Donna Karan Atelier gown with exposed back for Taylor Swift. Jessica Chastain’s seafoam Calvin Klein halter gown was set off by Harry Winston gems.

Jessica-Alba-2013-Golden-Globes.jpgKristen-Bell-2013-Golden-Globes-ed.jpgAnne-Hathaway-2013-Golden-Globes.jpg

Jessica Alba also wore Harry Winston jewelry which perfectly complemented her melon Oscar de la Renta gown. Kristen Bell’s lovely lilac Jenny Packham gown with heavily embellished bodice helped the pregnant actress stand out on the red carpet. Anne Hathaway relied on Chanel for both her Spring 2009 Couture gown and her dazzling jewelry.

We absolutely love Taylor’s Donna Karan and Nicole’s brilliant blue Naeem Khan. Which one is your favorite from the red carpet?

Anne-Hathaway-New-York-Premiere-Les-Miserables.jpgWhen Anne hit the red carpet Monday night for the New York premiere of Les Misérables, all eyes were on her glamorous Tom Ford Spring 2013 jet black taffeta caped masterpiece. Then she stuck out her leg to reveal the designer’s intense over-the-knee sandal boots. We’re not really sure how to feel about such graphic custom-made vegan footwear, especially when paired with an already extraordinary gown. Anne’s hair, makeup, and Fred Leighton jewels are all flawless, but we can’t seem to get past her boots, which could have been initially mistaken for fashion-forward leg braces. Perhaps we would appreciate Tom Ford’s unique creations a bit more paired with a different outfit. Anne has been taking quite a few risks lately and we certainly commend her for it, but still feel she might have missed the mark on this one.

So, what do you think of Anne’s unconventional footwear choice?

Amanda-Seyfried-Anne-Hathaway-Samantha-Barks-World-Premiere-of-Les-Miserables-London.jpgLes Misérables had its London premiere on Wednesday and the film’s three leading ladies each opted for very different looks on the red carpet. Amanda Seyfried certainly stood out in this black and white flamenco-inspired Balenciaga Spring 2013 ensemble. The actress combined her peplum-accented top and ruffled skirt with basic black pumps. The striking white satin Givenchy Spring 2012 Couture beaded gown Anne Hathaway wore featured dynamic cold-shoulders and an open back. Relative newcomer, Samantha Barks, went with this embellished long sleeve Stella McCartney. She styled her custom dark blue gown with a pair of Adler earrings and Jimmy Choo shoes.

We find ourselves most drawn to Anne’s out-of-the-box Givenchy creation. Which London look is your favorite?

Anne-Hathaway-Late-Show-with-David-Letterman-New-York-City-July-2012.jpgSalma-Hayek-2012-British-Fashion-Awards-London-Nov-2012.jpg

Stella McCartney’s Resort 2013 collection was full of fringed pieces, so it’s not surprising that a couple of stars were already spotted wearing the fun dresses. Anne Hathaway first sported the lookbook take on this fringed black sleeveless dress back in July when she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman to promote The Dark Knight Rises. A simple pair of black pumps rounded out her monochromatic look. The version Salma Hayek was photographed in at this week’s 2012 British Fashion Awards was slightly altered with that fantastic fringe detail also being added to the skirt. She accessorized with Boucheron jewelry and Giuseppe Zanotti black pumps. While both interpretations offer a strikingly similar silhouette, Anne somehow came off as more mod as opposed to Salma’s flapper-style vibe. Since each celeb managed to make the dress her own, we’re willing to officially call this one a draw.

Anne-Hathaway-Valentino-Wedding-gown.jpg

Anne Hathaway
wed her fiance Adam Shulman in Big Sur in a lovely etheral Valentino gown. It was fun watching her dress up in a gown in Bride Wars, but her real life gown was even more lovely. This shot was no doubt taken from an aerial helicopter, so we can’t wait to see a clear shot with a better look at all the detailing.

Golden-Globe-Favorites.jpg

There’s nothing we love more about the arrival of the new year than the anticipation of the awards show season! This Sunday puts an end to our awards show red carpet withdrawal with the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards. We can’t wait to see what our favorite stars will wear.

We’ve posted some of our favorite looks from the past three years above which include Anne Hathaway in Armani Prive, Drew Barrymore in Roland Mouret and Mila Kunis in Vera Wang. What are some of your favorite looks from the past, and who do you want to see this Sunday?

Check out all of our past Golden Globes coverage, and don’t forget to join us on Twitter live Sunday night to dish on all the red carpet looks!

Anne-Hathaway-alexander-mcqueen-premiere.jpg

Anne Hathaway took our breath away yesterday in London in a lovely lace dress from late British designer Alexander McQueen for the European premiere of her new movie One Day. We’re definitely loving the ladylike silhouette of the dress and her Old Hollywood waves.

anne-hathaway-lady-tux.jpg

Ever since the Oscars where Anne Hathaway wooed us in several outfit changes, one which was a a snazzy Lanvin tux (above right), we haven’t been able to get the idea of rocking a lady tux off our minds.

After a little digging we realized that Anne has embraced menswear long before this year’s Oscars. Above left, she looks fab in a great suit while doing press for the movie Bride Wars. Anne makes this look her own with three key ingredients: a posh high ponytail, a chic contoured jacket that shows off her waist, and sparkly heels.

We enjoyed the red carpet fashions from this year’s Golden Globes, SAG Awards, and the Grammys  so much that we were waiting with baited breath to see the red carpet at the 83rd Academy Awards. Unfortunately, it was all for naught. To say the red carpet left us a little underwhelmed would be the best assessment. Still, there were several lovely looks we liked. See them below:

Lady in Red

Oscars-2011-ladies-in-red.jpg

Jennifer Lawrence, in a custom Calvin Klein dress,Sandra Bullock, in Vera Wang, and host Anne Hathaway, in vintage Valentino all looked bold and beautiful in red hot hues. Sandra and Anne had some flair with pretty trains, while Jennifer surprised us in a sexy bare bones look that let her body do the talking.

Textured Dresses

Oscars-2011-Textured-Dresses.jpg

Oscar nominees Michelle Williams (also an Academy Award nominee), in Chanel  and Hailee Steinfeld, in Marchesa, together with Mila Kunis, in Elie Saab looked fab in perfectly pretty textured dresses. Mila has really been working the lilac dresses this year, and the peek-a-boo lace and chiffon look is stunning here. We also think young Hailee looks pretty and age appropriate in this blush tulle.

Ball Gowns

OScars-2011-Ballgowns.jpg

Camila Alves, in Kaufman Franco, and Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson in Versace were two of our favorite looks. We love voluminous dresses, and these show stoppers did not disappoint. We love the tangerine color of Jennifer’s dress and the way it accentuated her waist and long lean body. Va-va-va-voom!

Sparkle Plenty

Oscars-2011-Shimmery-Dresses.jpg

We love a good sparkle dress- and Mandy Moore, in Monique Lhuillier, and Oscar nominee Amy Adams in L’Wren Scott looked stylish in their shimmery sparkle dresses. Mandy’s elegant look was unexpected, but a great surprise.

Embellished Gowns

Oscars-2011-Embellished.jpg

Academy Award winners Hilary Swank, in Gucci, and Halle Berry, in Marchesa looked totally glamorous in their embellished gowns. Although, there were tweets and blog postings asking whether the looks (especially Halle’s) were over-the-top, we loved them! This is what the Oscars are all about. The silver screen’s big night, and the best of the best. You can’t drive that point home without beads, feathers, and tulle.

We want to hear from you. What were your favorite looks? Were you excited by the looks on this year’s red carpet?

anne-hathaway-mixed-prints.jpg

Anne Hathaway has had plenty of looks we loved (Hel-lo Golden Globes). This is not one of them. We like the sweater, and adore the shoes, but those pants (with or without this outfit) leave a lot to be desired. We’re all for mixing prints and creative expression, but only if done well.

What do you think? Love this look, or hate it?

It seems like just yesterday that we were admiring Olivia WIlde in Gucci and swooning over Lea Michelle in her tulle Oscar de la Renta gown. That was last year, and this is now. Here are the gowns we loved this year.

A Pop of Color
2011-golden-globes-bright-dresses.jpg

Claire Danes, in Calvin Klein Collection, January Jones, in Versace, and Sofia Vergara, in Monique Lhuillier, all played with color in a big way. From pretty hues of pink, to fiery orange, these ladies were no shrinking violets.

Going Green

2011-golden-globes-green-dresses.jpg

Elizabeth Moss, in Donna Karan, Mila Kunis in Vera Wang, and Catherine Zeta Jones, in Monique Lhuillier, all dazzled in lovely shades of green. Wearing this color, which turned out to be one of the biggest trends on the red carpet, always looks rich and glamorous.

Ruffled Gowns

2011-golden-globes-ruffled-dresses.jpg

Lea Michele, in Oscar de la Renta (of course), and Amy Adams, in Marchesa, gave us a romantic nod with ruffled dresses.

Sparkle

2011-golden-globes-sequined-dresses.jpg

Amber Riley, Anne Hathaway, in Giorgio Armani Prive, and Carrie Underwood, in Badgley Mischka, all shined (literally) on the red carpet in shimmering loveliness. We always love Anne’s picks (or should we say Rachel Zoe’s picks), and we think she looks like an old Hollywood stunner in her slinky gown.

The LBD

2011-golden-globes-black.jpg

Halle Berry, in Nina Ricci, and Eva Longoria, in Zac Posen, went for safe but sexy black dresses that were stunners on the red carpet. After all these years Halle Berry has not yet lost her ability to turn up the heat at awards shows in her sultry gowns.

Nude Attitude

2011-golden-globes-nude-dresses.jpg

While neutral hued dresses are usually chic, we often find them yawn inducing. Not this year! Julie Bowden, in Tadashi Shoji, Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland, in Max Azria, and Diana Agron, in J. Mendel made their taupes, tans, and nudes stylish with  floral embellishments, beads, and pleats.

Whew! Those were the dresses we loved. Tell us: What were your favorite dresses?

best-of-2010-red-carpet-dresses.jpg

We can’t resist a great red carpet dress, and this year did not disappoint. Here are our favorite red carpet dresses worn by Hollywood’s most stylish stars:

Taylor Swift in Kaufman Franco-Taylor lit up the red carpet at the Grammy Awards in a sapphire colored sequined gown that fit her perfectly.

Anne Hathaway in Valentino- Anne was a vision in tulle and sparkles in a sweetheart ballgown at the Costume Institute Gala.

Eva Longoria in Emilio Pucci- Eva was chiffon perfection at the Cannes Film Festival in this ruched and tiered gown with an elegant train.

Lea Michele in Oscar de la Renta- Lea turned on the high glamor in a navy ruffled gown and a sparkling bib necklace.

best-of-2010-best celebrity-beauty-trend.jpg

2010 was a great year for celebrity beauty trends that actually looked good in and out of Hollywood. Here are our favorites:

Messy Side Braid- Forget the slicked down perfectly polished ponytail we saw in 2009. This year was all about coming undone. Stylish stars like Nicole Richie rocked the messy side ponytail with boho panache.

Cropped Cuts- Stars like Emma Watson, Christina Ricci, and  Ashlee Simpson Wentz are just some of the stars who chopped their locks, to give way for more sophisticated shorter looks.

Ruby Lips
- Old Hollywood glamor made a return as lovely ladies like Anne Hathaway wore ruby lips on and off the red carpet.

anne-hathaway-taylor-swift-red-lips.jpg

The holidays will soon be upon us, and there’s no better time to pull out your red lipstick. Stars like Anne Hathaway and Taylor Swift have already been seen sporting this beauty trend all over the red carpet, with deep red and coral red puckers.

Find the shade that’s right for you for under $10 with our picks below:

anne-hathaway-love-other-drugs-premiere.jpg

Anne Hathaway was a vision in white on the red carpet in this second skin Antonio Berardi dress at the premiere for her new movie Love and Other Drugs. We love everything about this dress: the way it shows off her curves, the lace cutouts and the great detailing at her hips.

Paired with her beautiful makeup, and honey colored tresses, this look ranks among our favorites from Anne.

anne-hathaway-pixie-hair.jpg

Though reportedly just a wig, Anne Hathaway is one of the latest stars to thrill us with new hair. She takes our breath away on the set for her new movie One Day, by debuting a feathery soft pixie cut.

We love the volume and the shine, and the the way it makes her look more mature but still age appropriate. Tell us what you think. Should she make the look permanent or do you prefer her long locks?

The Costume Institute’s American Woman gala at the Met provided great eye candy for fashion lovers everywhere. Monday night’s red carpet had no shortage of fashion-forward and elegant gowns.

White Dresses

metgala2010whitedresses.jpgDiane Kruger, in Calvin Klein Collection, Emma Watson, in Burberry, Katy Perry, in CuteCircuit, and Taylor Swift, in Ralph Lauren, were all in visions in white (Katy in blush and white).

Sapphire Dresses

metgala2010bluedresses.jpg

Model Amber Valletta, in RM by Roland Mouret, singer Cassie, in Versace and Sergio Rossi shoes, and Emmy Rossum, in Kenneth Cole, provided a jolt of color to the red carpet in beautiful sapphire hues with bold shoes and accessories.

Beautiful Trains

metgala2010straplessdresses.jpg

Claire Danes, in Burberry, Eva Longoria, in Marchesa, and Kristin Davis, in vintage Rochas, exuded classic elegance in their strapless gowns with chic trains.

Shimmery Ballgowns

metgala2010shimmergowns.jpg

Anne Hathaway, in Valentino, and Jennifer Lopez, in Zuhair Murad, went for all out glamour in shimmery ballgowns with a wow factor.

Fashion-Forward

metgala2010avantdresses.jpg

As usual with the Met Gala, the red carpet brought out plenty of avant-garde and fashion- forward looks. Blake Lively, in Marchesa, Chloe Sevingy, in a dress she designed with Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, Elizabeth Banks, in Gucci, and Gisele Bundchen, in Alexander Wang made statements by pairing their fashion-forward detailed frocks with statement making shoes and accessories.

We loved looking at all the looks both glam and fashion-forward, but want to know what you think. So tell us: What do you think of the fashion-forward looks? What was your favorite look?

Yesterday we professed our love for Anne Hathaway’s cocktail dress worn to the premiere of the “Valentine’s Day” movie in Los Angeles. Well, she wasn’t the only one wearing a strapless sapphire blue dress to the premiere, Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon and Christine Lakin also wore this stunning new trend.
