Gwyneth-Paltrow-2013-Met-Gala.jpgBlake-Lively-2013-Met-Gala.jpgHeidi-Klum-2013-Met-Gala.jpg

Although the exhibit may be called Punk: Chaos to Couture, there were quite a few celebs at Monday night’s Met Gala who circumvented the chaos and went straight for couture. Gwyneth Paltrow was probably one of the event’s biggest offenders in this bubblegum pink Valentino gown with nude inset. Wilfredo Rosado earrings completed her sweet look. Blake Lively certainly represented the Gucci Première brand well in a light green strapless gown with black organza skirt accented by an embellished feather pattern at the waist. A pair of Lorraine Schwartz statement earrings polished off the stunning look. It was a marvelous Marchesa Fall 2013 white embellished gown for Heidi Klum on the red carpet. Harry Winston gems and Jimmy Choo shoes served as accessories.

Katie-Holmes-2013-Met-Gala.jpgKate-Upton-2013-Met-Gala.jpgUma-Thurman-2013-Met-Gala.jpg

Calvin Klein designed the rather ethereal ivory halter gown Katie Holmes wore to the gala. The actress also relied on Lorraine Schwartz jewels to finish off her look. Model Kate Upton arrived in an emerald Diane von Furstenberg draped gown. The designer’s gold clutch rounded out the look. Zac Posen was behind Uma Thurman’s dramatic green gown with cascading train. She did make a bit of a rebellious statement, though courtesy of that Efva Attling Funky Ring.

Despite the fact that these stars shunned the night’s established theme, we’re still impressed with the glamorous nature of their real show-stopping gowns. After all, isn’t going against the establishment what punk’s all about?

Blake-Lively-Haute-Hippie-Skirt.jpgGossip Girl is filming its latest season around New York City, so the images of the starlets in their designer finery are starting to pop up! We’re totally smitten with the skirt Blake Lively wore on set in Greenwich Village last week.

Blake was spotted in the Haute Hippie Love Her Madly Embellished Skirt ($795 at hautehippie.com). We know this skirt is a bit on the pricey side, but honestly, would you expect anything less from Serena van der Woodsen? We love the embellished tank and bright leather bag, too—they’re the perfect complement to the pretty print and subtle embellishment on the skirt. Snakeskin pumps are a bit over the top, but again, would you expect anything less from Serena?

Overall, we’d say this look knocks it out of the park!
blake-lively-zuhair-murad.jpg

Blake Lively went for full on Old Hollywood glamor in a glittering Zuhair Murad gown with a mermaid train and beautiful black beads for the premiere for her new movie Savages. The dress speaks for itself without a lot of accessories, and with her cascade of curls and red lips and nails.

There are some celebs who just knocked it out of the park every time they stepped onto the red carpet. Here are our favorite red carpet darlings of 2011.

Red-Carpet-Darlings-Image-1.jpgChloe Grace Moretz: Not only is the 14-year-old becoming a major actress, starring in movies like Hugo and (500) Days of Summer, but she just looks fantastic every time she’s on the red carpet! We can’t even pick a favorite look, but we’re loving her in Stella McCartney at Gossip Girl’s celebration of 100 episodes.

Emma Stone: The girl’s been everywhere this year, and her style has continued to evolve while maintaining a sense of fun and youth—like when she wore this colorblocked Giambattista Valli dress to the Friends With Benefits premiere, for example.

Blake Lively: The Gossip Girl star always wows on the red carpet, and this year was no exception. Whether she’s in Marchesa, like she was here, or in Chanel, she just commands attention.

Red-Carpet-Darlings-Image-2.jpgZoe Saldana: Ever since Avatar, Zoe sure has made an impression on the red carpet. This was definitely one of our favorite looks of hers from this past year.

Elle Fanning: Dakota’s younger sis is so sweet every time she shows up on the red carpet. We love her flowy skirts, flowers, pretty pastels … and the fact that she’s always completely age appropriate.

Hailee Steinfeld: Hailee takes chances on the red carpet, which we love. She plays with color, she plays with proportion, and she’s never afraid to be herself.

Blake-Lively-Rag-&-Bone-Zipper-Jean.jpgIf anyone can make carrying a pumpkin look good, it’s Blake Lively. She was spotted out and about recently looking chicer than ever while carrying October’s favorite vegetable … due in part to the fact that she was wearing the Rag & Bone Zipper Jean.

Blake teamed the super-skinny jeans with zip pockets on the hips with a ’70s-inspired slouchy hat, fitted jacket and animal-print pumps. The oversized bag with quilted detailing adds a sophisticated yet edgy feel.

2011-teen-choice-awards.jpg

Blake Lively, in Gucci with Christian Louboutin heels, Rachel Bilson in Chloe and Brian Atwood spiked booties, and Zoe Saldana in Lanvin and Alexander McQueen shoes, looked fun and fabulous at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards held yesterday in Los Angeles. With cool accent pieces like leopard print shoes, spiked booties, and a chic belt, these ladies kept their looks young and funky.

The MTV Movie Awards seem to have a little more subtlety than the MTV Music Awards as far as red carpet looks go, and this year was no exception. We love that the looks seen below (especially Mila’s and Lily’s) are looks that could easily fit into our everyday wardrobe.

Embellished looks

MTV-Movie-Awards-embellished.jpg

Kimberly Stewart, in Balmain, Emma Watson, in Marchesa, and Hailee Steinfeld in Louis Vuitton all looked chic in luxe embellished looks. We totally heart the masculine cool look of Hailee’s tuxedo look, and the pretty embellished lapel.

Prints and Color

2011-MTV-Movie-Awards-prints-color.jpg

Lily Collins and Rosie Whiteley both in Dolce & Gabbana, and Blake Lively, in Michael Kors made a splash in statement making prints and eye-popping color.

Sequined looks

2011-MTV-Movie-Awards-sequins.jpg

Brooklyn Decker, in No. 21 and Mila Kunis and Leighton Meester both in Balmain shined on the red carpet in sequined looks that showed off their legs and their star power.

These were some of our favorite looks. What were yours?

blake-lively-red-hair.jpg

Blake Lively hit the red carpet last night at the Time 100 gala in New York City with gorgeous auburn hair. We’re loving the new ginger hue, along with her Little Mermaid-esque look, but what about those nails?

blake-lively-dagger-nails.jpg

Lively’s retro dagger nails are the hot new celeb trend, having also appeared on the fingertips of Rihanna, Jessie J and Lady Gaga recently. Trend or not, this is one nail look we just can’t get behind.

What do you think of Lively’s red hair and dagger nails?

blake-lively-chanel-dinner.jpg

Friday we spoke about one of Hollywood’s hottest new stars having her fashion moment, but really if anyone has been having their fashion moment it has to be Blake Lively, seen above at a Chanel dinner during Paris Fashion Week.

Blake, seen above wearing Chanel and Christian Louboutin heels, has been a front row fixture at several fashion week shows all over the world, and has also been popping up on the red carpet looking fabulous. We love the contoured silhouette of this dress, and the chic shimmery fabric. Blake truly is shining.

Blake Lively looks lovely at the 2011 Elle Style Awards in a swoon worthy electric blue dress by Emilio Pucci. Not only did the dress do a great job of showing off her toned shoulders and gams, it also showed off her fun purple peep-toe shoes.

Board-of-review-red-carpet.jpg

Blake Lively, in Marchesa,Christine Teigen, and Michelle Williams get our vote for best dressed at the National Board of Review of Motion Pictures Awards gala. Blake and Michelle worked looks that had beauty in the details, while model and girlfriend of soul crooner John Legend stayed chic and monochromatic in a nude dress and heels.

Lorraine-schwartz-2bhappy-launch.jpg

Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, and Blake Lively looked super stylish as they got together to celebrate the Lorraine Scwhartz “2BHappy” jewelry launch. Host Beyonce looked amazing in a white sheath with Lorraine Schwartz earrings and bangles, Mary J. Blige saved all the glitz for her ears with some sparkling drop earrings, and Blake Lively looked glam in a champagne gown with matching drop earrings and bangles.

cfda-awards-2010.jpg

What’s black, white, and chic all over? The looks on the red carpet for the CFDA Fashion Fund Awards on Monday night. Carey Mulligan, in Chanel Haute Couture, Leighton Meester in Prabal Gurung, and Blake Lively, in Chanel all looked great in their fashion forward frocks for the big fashion event.

We always love how Leighton Meester gives glam looks an edge with her funky shoe choices, and last night was no exception. She rocked the red carpet by pairing her Swarovski crystal encrusted dress with Roger Vivier suede booties. She wins as our favorite look of the night by far.

Fashion-Forward

metgala2010avantdresses.jpg

As usual with the Met Gala, the red carpet brought out plenty of avant-garde and fashion- forward looks. Blake Lively, in Marchesa, Chloe Sevingy, in a dress she designed with Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, Elizabeth Banks, in Gucci, and Gisele Bundchen, in Alexander Wang made statements by pairing their fashion-forward detailed frocks with statement making shoes and accessories.

We loved looking at all the looks both glam and fashion-forward, but want to know what you think. So tell us: What do you think of the fashion-forward looks? What was your favorite look?

These were the lovely ladies who showed up on our fashion radar over and over again this year with consistently stylish looks.

Kate Hudson - This year we saw Kate out and about in New York with her baseball player boyfriend A-Rod, shopping in Los Angeles, and at red carpet premieres where she always looked great. Known for showing off her toned legs, this style star regularly works mini dresses and skinny jeans like no other.

Halle Berry - Halle has been in the fashion game for a while and shows no signs of slowing down. Even as a new mother she is consistently fabulous in skinny jeans, oversized sunglasses, and cool leather jackets. Alternatively, she works skintight party dresses for Hollywood events with similar panache.

Blake Lively - The Gossip Girl star is a regular fixture on the red carpet and Hollywood events in the latest trends and fashion-forward outfits. Whether she’s wearing Michael Kors or Marchesa we can’t get enough.

Taylor Swift - Though just a teen, Taylor has been a media fashion darling this year. Making the rounds at TV shows, walking the red carpet, or out on the town we love to see Taylor’s looks. She has definitely mastered grown up glamor and we can’t wait to see her in the coming year.

sherlockholmesredcarpet.jpg

Blake Lively, Ashley Greene, and Rachel McAdams lit up the red carpet for the New York premiere of Sherlock Holmes in great looks in black and white. We love the flirty cocktail dresses Blake and Ashley wore, but we’re especially smitten with Rachel’s Jasmine di Milo black bustier and Catherine Malandrino wide-leg trousers.
