Need to make an old dress in your closet fresh and exciting? Take a cue from Diane Kruger seen above in Toronto and throw on a fitted denim vest. We like this vest from Topshop, for its cropped cut and vintage feel.

The Met Gala may have been last week, but as the red carpet was filled with the world’s biggest celebrities and fashion connoisseurs, we’re still digesting all of the trends! And there were quite a few to behold this time around. From mountains of feathers to bright, juicy colors, these are the trends from the red carpet that are worth taking a second look.

Spangled-Gowns-Met-Gala.jpgSpangled gowns
Is there any better way to bring the drama than in a gorgeous spangled gown? Camilla Belle (in Ralph Lauren), Cameron Diaz (in Stella McCartney), Karolina Kurkova (in Rachel Zoe), Kate Upton (in Michael Kors) and Jessica Pare (in L’Wren Scott) certainly didn’t think so.

Feathered-Dresses-1-Met-Gala.jpgFeathered-Dresses-2-Met-Gala.jpgFeathers, feathers everywhere
For a dose of added drama, some celebrities went for mountains of feathers attached to their gowns. Check out Beyonce (in Givenchy Haute Couture), Kate Bosworth (in Prada), Diane Kruger (also in Prada), Cate Blanchett (in Alexander McQueen) and Amy Poehler (in Fotini.) Some may say this trend is better left to the birds, but we think these ladies pulled it off!

White-Dresses-Met-Gala.jpgWhite gowns
There just isn’t a more ethereal, angelic hue than white. And while some may consider it boring on the red carpet, these three starlets definitely took chances with such a safe color! We’re loving the looks by Ashley Greene (in Donna Karan Atelier), Claire Danes (in J. Mendel, with husband Hugh Dancy) and stylesetter Rachel Zoe (in her own design).

Yellow-Met-Gala.jpgBright, sunny yellow
Is there a more “notice me” color than yellow? We don’t think so, and neither did January Jones (in Atelier Versace), Coco Rocha (in Givenchy, previously owned by Elizabeth Taylor) and Solange Knowles (in Rachel Roy, with the designer).

Girly-Details-Met-Gala.jpgGirly details
Tulle, ruffles and other girly, flirty details were all the rage on the red carpet. Sometimes it’s just really nice to enjoy being a girl! At least that’s what Leslie Mann (in Nina Ricci), Scarlett Johansson (in Dolce & Gabbana), Leighton Meester (in Marchesa) and Dakota Fanning (in Louis Vuitton) thought.

Diane-Kruger-Lea-Michele-Emilio-Pucci.jpgEmilio Pucci’s gorgeous dresses have been spotted on both Lea Michele and Diane Kruger as of late. And we have to say they both looked pretty amazing!

We’re loving Diane Kruger’s long black gown with a sheer skirt. The minaudiere she carried added some chic texture.

Lea Michele simply stunned in a black and gold lace minidress with cutout neckline, especially teamed with metallic strappy sandals.

We’re also loving that both starlets rocked daring manicures with their Emilio Pucci dresses—Diane in a blood red and Lea in a chocolate brown.

Diane Kruger, in a YSL gown, seen with Dita Von Teese, and Fergie, in Louis Vuitton worked the room at the amfAR Inspiration Gala in Paris, France on Thursday. We are definitely going to take a cue from Diane by wearing a beautifully draped dress, no fuss hair, and bright lips.

2011-coachella-style.jpg

Katy Perry, Kate Bosworth, and Diane Kruger enjoyed the Coachella Music Festival last Saturday in style. Katy, in a lace dress, and Diane, in a maxi skirt, went fun and feminine, while Kate Bosworth went sporty and cool in a faded sleeveless tee and short shorts.

What better way to enjoy a night out, than to go to a fashion show for charity. Above, Zoe Kravtiz, actress and daughter to rocker Lenny Kravitz, with designer Alexander Wang, Vogue Editor Anna Wintour, and Diane Kruger, in Jason Wu, did just that joining NET-A-PORTER Tuesday night to support the Runway to Green Collection launch at Christie’s Bid to Save the Earth event. Diane Kruger looks stunning as usual at a Berlin photocall for her new movie Unknown in  a gown and platforms both by Prada. Although she wore two different looks by Prada at the photocall, this one was by far our favorite. We’re also loving her waves and chic chandelier earrings.

We love Diane’s coral and teal color combo so much that we’re already thinking of ways to incorporate it into our spring wardrobe.

Hollywood-loves-gucci.jpg

Diane Kruger, Olivia Wilde, and Jessica Alba show off their sexy side in Gucci with cocktails and a private dinner at Rue Royale in Paris to celebrate Gucci Creative Director, Frida Giannini, and to celebrate the makeover of the Paris Gucci store.

Known for its super slick and sexy style, Gucci is often seen on Hollywood’s hottest stars. We always love Gucci’s dresses, but we were especially taken with Olivia’s jumpsuit. We find it both fashion forward, and a great blend of the masculine and feminine qualities Gucci is known for.

The Costume Institute’s American Woman gala at the Met provided great eye candy for fashion lovers everywhere. Monday night’s red carpet had no shortage of fashion-forward and elegant gowns.

White Dresses

metgala2010whitedresses.jpgDiane Kruger, in Calvin Klein Collection, Emma Watson, in Burberry, Katy Perry, in CuteCircuit, and Taylor Swift, in Ralph Lauren, were all in visions in white (Katy in blush and white).

Sapphire Dresses

metgala2010bluedresses.jpg

Model Amber Valletta, in RM by Roland Mouret, singer Cassie, in Versace and Sergio Rossi shoes, and Emmy Rossum, in Kenneth Cole, provided a jolt of color to the red carpet in beautiful sapphire hues with bold shoes and accessories.

Beautiful Trains

metgala2010straplessdresses.jpg

Claire Danes, in Burberry, Eva Longoria, in Marchesa, and Kristin Davis, in vintage Rochas, exuded classic elegance in their strapless gowns with chic trains.

Shimmery Ballgowns

metgala2010shimmergowns.jpg

Anne Hathaway, in Valentino, and Jennifer Lopez, in Zuhair Murad, went for all out glamour in shimmery ballgowns with a wow factor.

Fashion-Forward

metgala2010avantdresses.jpg

As usual with the Met Gala, the red carpet brought out plenty of avant-garde and fashion- forward looks. Blake Lively, in Marchesa, Chloe Sevingy, in a dress she designed with Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, Elizabeth Banks, in Gucci, and Gisele Bundchen, in Alexander Wang made statements by pairing their fashion-forward detailed frocks with statement making shoes and accessories.

We loved looking at all the looks both glam and fashion-forward, but want to know what you think. So tell us: What do you think of the fashion-forward looks? What was your favorite look?

oscars2010logo.jpg

We’ve been all over the red carpets this year and really enjoying the fashions, but there is one show we were waiting for : The Oscars. Last night’s 82nd annual Academy Awards did not disappoint, bringing many gorgeous looks. Here are our favorites of the night:

Ruffled and Tiered Dresses

oscars2010ruffleddresses.jpg

Demi Moore in Atelier Versace, Diane Kruger in Chanel, and Elizabeth Banks in Versace all worked the ruffled dress trend. Given the possibility of overdoing ruffles we think the ladies all did a great job of choosing dresses that didn’t overpower them.

One-Shoulder Dresses

oscars2010oneshouldergowns.jpg

Queen Latifah in Badgley Mischka Couture, Tina Fey in Michael Kors, and Sigourney Weaver in Lanvin all looked radiant in one-shoulder dresses. All the dresses were very sleek and visually interesting.

Strapless Gowns

oscars2010straplessgowns1.jpg oscars2010straplessgowns2.jpg

Kristen Stewart in Monique Lhuillier, Miley Cyrus in Jenny Packham (above top photos),Mariska Hartigay in Vera Wang, and Charlize Theron in Christian Dior (above bottom photos) all went for traditional strapless gowns. We love the sweetheart necklines and fit of Kristen and Miley’s dresses, and the volume and flair of Mariska and Charlize’s dresses.

Voluminous Dresses

oscars2010fullgowns1.jpg oscars2010fullgowns2.jpg

Jennifer Lopez in Armani Prive, Penelope Cruz in Donna Karan (above top photos), Amanda Seyfried in Giorgio Armani Prive, and Cameron Diaz in Oscar de la Renta (above bottom photos), all graced the red carpet in rich full gowns. While Jennifer, Amanda, and Cameron chose ethereal white gowns with texture and beading detail,  Penelope chose a rich wine color with a pretty sheen.

While we’d love to tell you our best dressed, we must admit we are deadlocked between Cameron Diaz, who stunned us with her glamour, and Penelope Cruz, who wowed us in her elegant Donna Karan gown. Who do you think was best dressed?

SAGawardfashionlogo.jpg

We just caught our breath from covering the Golden Globes fashion and now here we are reviewing the beautiful dresses and trends seen on the red carpet at the SAG Awards.

COLOR

2010 SAGawardscoloreddresses.jpg

Anna Kendrick (in Alberta Ferretti), Diane Kruger ( in Jason Wu), Drew Barrymore (in Monique Lhuillier), Giuliana Rancic, and Lea Michele (Catherine Malandrino) all worked the red carpet in beautiful technicolor hues. We loved all the color, but kudos goes to Diane for finding a dress with the best combination of cut and color.

 ICY HUES

2010SAGawardwhitedresses.jpg

Christina Applegate (in a custom dress), Kate Hudson, and Marion Cotillard (in Elie Saab) looked angelic in their icy hues of light blue and white. What they lacked in color they definitely made up for in detailing. Christina’s dress got glam with Swarvoski Crystals and beading, Kate added drama with shimmery detailing and low back, and Marion shook things up with a feather trimmed dress.

RED DRESSES

2010SAGawardreddresses.jpg

Christina Hendricks, Carey Mulligan (in Lanvin), Edie Falco, and Mariah Carey all looked red hot in their scarlet dresses. This color commands attention, and these ladies definitely had ours with their beautifully draped and body conscious dresses.

Can you hardly wait to see the lovely dresses the Oscars will bring? We know we can’t!

goldenglobeawardstag.jpg

The 2010 Awards season kicked off yesterday evening with the Golden Globe Awards. As usual the red carpet did not disappoint. Below are some of the top trends we saw on the red carpet, and the best looks out of those trends. Get ready to marvel at the beauty, we know we did.

Neutral Dresses

goldenglobes2010pinkdresses.jpg

Christina Hendricks in Christian Siriano, Maggie Gyllenhaal in RM Roland Mouret, and Drew Barrymore in Atelier Versace proved that although fair in color neutral and rosy fabrics can be red hot. With their soft hues these dresses more easily get their dramatic flair from draping, origami-like folds, and modern embellishments.

Beaded and Shimmery Gowns

goldenglobes2010beadeddresses.jpg

These ladies didn’t need the dresses to shine, but the beads and shimmer certainly didn’t hurt. Olivia Wilde in Gucci, Jenifer Garner in  Versace, and Toni Collette in Elie Saab all proved that a little shine can be very glamorous. Not only do we love the necklines on these dresses, we also admire the chic detailing and designs on each gown.

Volume

goldenglobesvoluminousdresses.jpg

Whether it was a full skirt like Lea Michele’s (far right) Oscar de la Renta gown with tulle, or smaller detailing like the ruffled bodice of  Diane Kruger’s (middle) Christian Lacroix Haute  Couture gown, we saw volume popping up all over the Globes red carpet. Penelope Cruz went the middle of the road in volume with a beautifully intricate Giorgio Armani Prive lace gown with a tiered bottom.

With all lovely gowns we saw last night, we can’t wait to see what the SAG Awards and Oscars will bring.

We’re so used to long gowns at the red carpet that we relish the times that call for more casual looks. The People’s Choice Awards is just the awards show to showcase short sexy frocks, and the celebs above did not disappoint.

Carrie Underwood dazzled us with her Christian Cota dress and Rock & Republic sandals, while Dania Ramirez wooed us with her fuchsia cocktail dress with an ornate twisted bodice. Ginnfer Goodwin surprised us with a frilly black and white dress, and Diane Kruger kept it sleek and simple in a Herve Leger by Max Azria bandage dress and Emilio Pucci gladiator sandals.

All in all the looks were short, sweet, and sassy!

If ever you want to see how beautiful women can look in clothes from the house of Chanel, look no further than actress Diane Kruger.

Favored by Chanel Head Designer and Creative Director Karl Lagerfeld Diane is seen frequently wearing Chanel pieces. Whether she’s in a tweed dress or a sweater and silk harem pants by the label she always oozes Parisian chicness.

DianeKrugerChanel09.jpgDiane Kruger looks lovely here in Chanel.

We never really know what to expect from Diane. She’s a former model and she’s fearless when it comes to fashion. One day she’ll wear something completely daring, like this back (and bottom) baring Versace

Then she’ll put on an inexpensive Kimchi Blue dress from Urban Outfitters!

We like what she wears, but we’re not sure we completely understand her look. One thing is certain, we want her to have more red carpet moments!

DianeKrugerkimchi.jpgDiane Kruger was spotted out the other day in a Kimchi Blue dress. The micro-floral print dress is currently on sale at Urban Outfitters for $39.99 (sorry - does not come with skinny belt or Diane’s amazing legs).

DianeKrugerback.jpgFirst Rachel McAdams wears a Pucci dress that dips awfully low in front, now Diane Kruger wears one of the most daring red carpet dresses StyleBakery has ever seen. It’s Versace Atelier and we happen to think Diane is very brave to wear it. What’s the saying…’If you’ve got it…”

What do you think, is this chic or just shocking?

Dianepink.jpgDiane Kruger is the latest celebrity to wear this shocking shade of pink. You’re in good company, Diane. Is this a color that anyone can wear? We’ve seen it on celebs with brunette and blonde hair…now we just need a redhead. Come on, Isla Fisher!

DianeMarchesa.jpgThis color of Diane Kruger’s Marchesa dress reminds us of the Rodarte dress Natalie Portman
wore to the Oscars. It doesn’t look like Diane had much tailoring done to her dress…it might have been lengthened a bit. We love her long drop earrings and the cute peep toes she chose.
