We loved Adele’s elegant LBD on the red carpet over a week ago at the Grammy Awards, but it was her bold beauty look that kept our attention. Mimicking looks we saw on the Spring runways, Adele shows us how to pull off retro glamor with her ruby lips, winged eyeliner and pretty coiffed hair.

2011 was filled with dramatic makeup and fashion forward hair. Here were our favorite beauty trends of the year:
Dramatic Eyes and Nude Lips- This look is great alternative to face heavy with makeup. Stars like Eva Longoria and Amber Hearst looked fab wearing this trend on the red carpet. The look is subtle but still stunning
Fashion-Forward Pixie - Whether worn in a traditional pixie or a voluminous pompadour, cropped cuts got a twist this year. We especially loved Evan Rachel Wood’s pixie at the Season 4 premiere of True Blood and Ginnifer Goodwin’s pretty pompadour at the Season 5 premiere of Big Love.
Bright Lips - In years past we’ve seen matte lips and classic ruby lips, but this year was all about statement puckers. Stars like Emma Stone rocked Hollywood with bright pink lips that commanded attention.
Kourtney Kadashian combines two looks we love (braids and buns) for a stylish holiday hairstyle that looks chic and complicated; but is actually easy. If you look closely you’ll see it’s simply two french braids pulled back and twisted into a bun. Since this look has her hair pulled back from her face she really plays up her features by accenting her eyes with false eyelashes and her lips with beery lipstick (she often favors wearing red lips in Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture in No. 13 Le Orange).photo via Allure.com
We were all about pretty beachy waves for summer, but as fall approaches we are leaning towards a sleeker more polished look. Lauren Conrad’s posh bun is just what we are looking for. Her bun, worn loose as she does left, or piled high and polished with ruby lips as she wears on the right is simple and stylish.
Kristen Stewart paired her casual Comic-Con ensemble (a white-t-shirt, skinny jeans, and Converse sneakers) with low-key waves and simple make-up. Her effortlessly chic waves looked fab and are easy to replicate.
