The MTV Movie Awards seem to have a little more subtlety than the MTV Music Awards as far as red carpet looks go, and this year was no exception. We love that the looks seen below (especially Mila’s and Lily’s) are looks that could easily fit into our everyday wardrobe.

Embellished looks

Kimberly Stewart, in Balmain, Emma Watson, in Marchesa, and Hailee Steinfeld in Louis Vuitton all looked chic in luxe embellished looks. We totally heart the masculine cool look of Hailee’s tuxedo look, and the pretty embellished lapel.

Prints and Color

Lily Collins and Rosie Whiteley both in Dolce & Gabbana, and Blake Lively, in Michael Kors made a splash in statement making prints and eye-popping color.

Sequined looks

Brooklyn Decker, in No. 21 and Mila Kunis and Leighton Meester both in Balmain shined on the red carpet in sequined looks that showed off their legs and their star power.

These were some of our favorite looks. What were yours?

Bar-Rafaeli-Roberto-Cavalli-Cannes.jpgBar Rafaeli may be recently single (yes, she and Leonardo DiCaprio broke up—again), but she most certainly doesn’t look as though she’s having any second thoughts. Throughout the Cannes Film Festival, she’s been spotted looking nothing less than beautiful—and every time she’s been wearing Roberto Cavalli!

Short, long, silky, glittery … no matter what Bar seems to wear on the Cannes red carpet, she strikes gold. (Quite literally in the sparkly gold frock she paired with Sergio Rossi pumps at the Cavalli boutique opening party.)

Which look is your favorite? Left, the glittery gold with Sergio Rossi? Middle, the navy satin gown with Chopard jewels? Or right, the sparkly strapless minidress with Giuseppe Zanotti heels and Chopard jewelry?

Kirsten-Dunst-Chloe-Dress-Cannes.jpgStars are really pulling out all the stops at the Cannes Film Festival—and Kirsten Dunst is no exception. While we weren’t huge fans of the Rodarte dress she wore to the premiere of Melancholia, we’re absolutely loving the marigold yellow Chloe dress she wore to the film’s photocall.

Dunst paired the flattering ruched frock with Jimmy Choo strappy sandals and a bold red lip. The look is chic and summery with just a touch of sass. Great for a summer wedding, wouldn’t you say?

2011-billboard-awards.jpg

This year’s Billboard Music Awards brought out the sexier side of some of today’s hottest stars. Britney Spears revealed her svelte frame in a bandage dress and strappy sandals, Taylor Swift showed off her shoulders in a sequined Elie Saab gown, and Selena Gomez was a bombshell in a sultry black dress by Dolce & Gabbana complete with cutouts and a thigh high slit.

What do you think of the sexy looks?

Stylish stars celebrating the opening of the Met’s latest style exhibit, Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty (a tribute to the late British designer) at the 2011 Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute Gala, surprised us with bright pops of color and chic silhouettes.

We love Ashley Greene, in Donna Karan, Ginnifer Goodwin, in a custom gown from TopShop, Jennifer Lopez, in Gucci and Ashley Olsen, in vintage Christian Dior. What’s best about these gowns? The fact that they are fashion-forward without going over-the-top.

Tell us: who were your favorites?
