Heidi Klum looks fab in a silky dress on the red carpet for the launch “Heidi Klum for New Balance” active-wear collection. We love the black and white graphic print on her dress, as well as the deep v in the back of her dress, and her electric blue suede pumps.

Using a bold print or a bold color can really make a look pop, and here Heidi has done both. This is definitely not a look for a wallflower.

Stylish girl about town and MTV’s The City star Olivia Palermo, in Marchesa, Jessica Szohr, in Marchesa, and TV personality Beth Stern (wife of radio personality Howard Stern) all look totally glam as they step out at New York Fashion Week for the Spring 2011 Marchesa presentation.

We love that Marchesa can make over-the-top glam dresses that look great for big events, and just as easily make simply chic dresses like Olivia’s dress above for everything in between.

When we realized it was time for the MTV VMA Awards, we naturally prepared ourselves for wild over-the-top ensembles. We were in for a shock! Besides the one or two kooky ensembles, we were bowled over by the glamorous looks we saw grace the pre-show red carpet.

Above, Twilight actress Ashley Greene, Ciara, Rosario Dawson, and model Coco Rocha show off stunning looks. We still can’t get over Ciara, who once rocked mostly b-girl looks, in her flirty lace and feathers number.

Still, our best dressed goes to….

Stephanie Pratt and Lo Bosworth of MTV’s The Hills

Naturally, the two look fab in shimmery gold dresses - which is totally appropriate considering they are two of MTV’s golden girls.

Jessica Alba has been on fire on the red carpet lately. Her style strategy, consisting of visually stunning dresses that show off her gams and strappy heels, is definitely working for her. Above left she attends the Venice International Film Festival premiere of Machete in a Valentino Haute Couture gown with an asymmetrical skirt, and Ferragamo lace-up sandals. Right, she attends the L.A. premiere of Machete in a sequined Balmain dress and cutout Christian Louboutin shoes.

While neither silhouette above is remarkable, the details that make them special. Details like an intricate bodice, textured skirt, and chevron print sequins, that make her stand out on the red carpet.
