Katie Holmes

Katie Holmes recently wore a voluminous trench coat in Paris and we loved it! We can’t tell if it is a trench coat dress or just a very full coat, but it looks so comfortable. For all we know, Kate could have a sweatshirt and a pair of boxer shorts on under her trench. We’re fairly confident that she doesn’t, but the point is that a great outfit doesn’t have to be complicated. Steal Kate’s polished look with just two pieces.

1. Calvin Klein Jeans Shimmer Trench, $111.99 (on sale) at macys.com
2. Wonder Wand maryjane in dark red/black by Poetic Licence, $100 at piperlime.com

Beyonce

The last time we wrote about Beyonce, it was a What Were They Thinking? entry, but we don’t have anything bad to say about this winning look, except that it might be a little see-through. Beyonce introduced the new Samsung B phone last week and we thought her look was classy enough to copy.

We chose a similar Rachel Pally wrap dress in blue and paired it with a different kind of animal-print shoe: snake skin. We love Beyonce’s leopard print T-strap peep toes (they look great with her green dress), but snakeskin looks better with blue. Since we couldn’t find a wrap dress with the same medallion detail as Beyonce’s, we added a chunky bracelet to our look that incorporates the same element (and works perfectly since our dress has mid-length Dolman sleeves).

1. Bishop Sleeve Wrap Dress in midnight by Rachel Pally, $220 at shopbop.com
2. Prim-Snake pump in natural snake by Charles David, $250 at piperlime.com
3. Medallion bracelet in gold, $38 at bananarepublic.com

Sarah Jessica Parker Sex and the City Movie

Sarah Jessica Parker sported a bride-of-Frankenstein-esque hairdo on the streets of New York City last week. Relax, it was all for the Sex and the City movie. Between takes, she sported this comfortable-looking casual outfit, which we think has definite lazy-weekend-look potential. We recommend a simple ponytail though.

1. Cross Stitch Top, $20 at forever21.com
2. BDG Cigarette Leg Jean Grey, $49 at urbanoutfitters.com
3. Crossover Ballet flat, $9.99 (on sale) at urbanoutfitters.com

Emma Watson National Movie Awards

Emma Watson was at the National Movie Awards in London, England with her Harry Potter co-stars and sported a youthful-yet-sophisticated cornflower blue shirtdress and cobalt blue patent leather heels. Pairing two different shades of blue together is such a simple-but-great idea and Emma looks adorable in it. The key to duplicating this look is to contrast your blue dress with a pair of patent leather shoes in another shade of blue. Although we have to say it….we prefer Emma’s version best!

Sarah Jessica Parker Sex and the City Carrie Bradshaw

Sarah Jessica Parker was on set of the Sex and the City movie in New York in character as the daring fashionista, Carrie Bradshaw. If you’re feeling brave, we’ve replicated this look with finds from shopbop.com.

First, we adapted the look for Fall by switching a cream dress for SJP’s white dress. You could also add black opaque tights to really make it appropriate for the colder season. Carrie’s white and gold flower is a bold statement (and clearly a nod to her earlier sartorial statements in the SATC series), but probably not practical for most. This enamel ring by Kenneth Jay Lane is remarkably similar, but is more understated worn as a cocktail ring. Juxtaposing an edgy and clunky leather heel with a delicate dress is the key to this outfit’s success. This pair by Ash definitely fits the bill.

1. Flower Ring by Kenneth Jay Lane, $88 at shopbop.com
2. Necklace Dress by AKA New York, $368 at shopbop.com
3. Queen Open Toe Mary Jane Pump by Ash, $185 at shopbop.com
