Topshop is known for stylishly affordable statement pieces and now the beloved British brand has finally hit Los Angeles. It’s no secret that a lot of stars are Topshop fans, so several celebs were spotted at the grand opening of the stateside location and we’ll probably be seeing Topshop everywhere on the streets. Here are some of the more interesting looks from Wednesday night’s event.

Revenge star Ashley Madekwe sported a rather athletic Mixed Texture Bodycon dress by the brand. Kate Bosworth made a really bold statement in this yellow cut-out dress. Solange Knowles opted for a silk ensemble from the Topshop Unique section. Her Silk Check shirt and Silk Cross Print shorts were paired with Chanel Spring 2013 striped platform pumps.

Michelle Trachtenberg’s black and yellow Lace Placement Twist dress was capped off with Graphic Curve Heel shoe boots. It was a black and white Topshop Mono Floral playsuit for rising star Isabelle Fuhrman. Emma Roberts attended the event decked out in Topshop’s Mix and Match shift dress along with Sissy woven platforms.

We’re coveting Ashley’s sporty dress and Michelle’s lacy creation. Which Topshop piece are you lusting after?

Leather-Paneled-Tops.jpgLeather’s making a new name for itself on the red carpet as of late. Celebs are showing up for events decked out in the chic fabric, but only partially … because they’re wearing leather paneled tops!

At the premiere of The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete at the Sundance Film Festival, Alicia Keys and Jennifer Hudson both showed up in different takes on the same trend. Alicia’s grey sweatshirt featured a large black leather panel down the front, which she teamed with dark blue skinnies and black leather boots. Jennifer added oxblood skinnies (the color is definitely having a major moment on the red carpet right now), studded black boots and a long side braid.

Who do you think wore the trend better?

Celebs-Burgundy-Red-Carpet.jpgOxblood is definitely having a moment on the red carpet! So many celebs are showing up to events in varying takes on the color, which is just perfect for dropping temperatures. We love the deep jewel tone and the sophisticated feel of the hue.

Rose Byrne in a sleeveless shell and leather skirt looked polished at a Sydney film premiere, while the new star of The Carrie Diaries, AnnaSophia Robb, was cute and preppy in a paisley blouse and dark blue skinnies at SiriusXM Studios. For an event in NYC, America Ferrera donned a burgundy dress with cool brown boots. And even Duchess Catherine got in the spirit, wearing a burgundy chiffon dress to the unveiling of her official portrait in London.

What do you think of oxblood—and the celebs wearing it?

Metallic-Mini-Dresses-Trendspotting.jpgThe metallic mini dress is having quite the moment on red carpets recently—and not just for New Year’s Eve! Yes, they may have been seen in full force that night, but plenty of celebrities are sporting them for any old occasion.

Fergie went for the gold on New Year’s Eve in a form-fitting metallic mini with exaggerated shoulders. We’re absolutely loving her high bun and huge chandelier earrings.

Gabrielle Union chose a textured silver mini with short sleeves for a party on New Year’s Eve. We wish she would have chosen more fun shoes than simple open-toe black pumps, but she does look pretty stunning.

Never one to shy away from drama on the red carpet, Nicki Minaj paired a bright blonde curly ‘do with a low-cut bronze mini and sky-high glittery pumps. On anyone else, this would be questionable—on Minaj, it’s just another day, right?

And, finally, Demi Lovato attended the Los Angeles finale of The X Factor in a metallic green dress with sexy cutouts. Again, we wish for a more interesting shoe, but we do love her curly locks.

What do you think of the metallic mini dress trend? Is this something you’d try?

Leopard-Print-Celebrities-Trendspotting.jpgAnimal prints are hot on the red carpet once again! Jessica Chastain, Kelly Rowland and Khloe Kardashian have all sported different takes on the trend within the past few weeks.

At an event for The X Factor, Khloe Kardashian wore a fitted leopard print jacket over a black tee, black skinnies and knee-high lace-up black boots. We like her jacket, but we wish she would have added a little color in her shoes.

For a performance in Las Vegas, Kelly Rowland actually wore something pretty similar to Khloe—she also teamed a leopard print jacket with black skinnies and boots. But her pants are leather, and her jacket is open to reveal her decolletage. We definitely think this look works a bit better.

Finally, Jessica Chastain picked a leopard print minidress to wear after her Broadway show, adding a black military-inspired coat, opaque black tights and lace-up booties.

We definitely like Jessica’s take on the trend the best, but what do you think?
