celebs-in-cap-toe-pumps.jpg

Kerry Washington, Jessica Biel and Jessica Alba all look fab rocking the latest shoe trend for fall: cap toe pumps. This classic wardrobe staple with a twist adds instant panache to any look. Jessica B has fun by pairing hers with a print dress for a fashion-forward and flirty look, while Jessica A keeps it sleek and sophisticated with a more subdued pair that plays off her look. We’re not partial to pointy toes or round ones, we love them all the same. This look is a great but safe way to have fun with your work look and still be office appropriate. This trend also works out of the office as well for a funky ensemble for a night out, or to jazz up a basic sheath for a day event (like Kerry does above left).

trendspotting-oxblood.jpg
Girls star Allison Williams, at Peter Som, Jessica Alba, in Doc Martens and Miranda Kerr show us three ways to wear the color of the season. Deeper than red but lighter than plum, Oxblood is rich and chic and is turning up all over Hollywood and in stores. We think this hue is a great way to make a departure from black without feeling too bright. Not sure you’re ready to go head-to-toe oxblood? Then make like Miranda and grab an oxblood bag. Check out our favorite oxblood bags in the Fall handbag guide.

Sparkly-LBDs-Trendspotting.jpgThe LBD is always a classic. But if you want to take it to the next level? Act like these celebs and make it sparkly!

We’re loving the sparkly LBDs chosen by Sofia Vergara, Lacey Chabert and Daryl Hannah. (Side note: We will forever equate Daryl Hannah with Splash. She’s always going to be a mermaid to us.) But we digress. All three ladies look absolutely gorgeous in frocks that show off their curves and add a little flash and gleam to the otherwise ordinary LBD.

Ashley-Benson-Lucy-Hale-Prints-Illusion-Details.jpgTwo different events, two different Pretty Little Liars stars … two very similar looks! Yes, each girl put her own spin on this trend, but Ashley Benson and Lucy Hale were each spotted this past week in bold prints and different takes on illusion details. Small world, right?

Ashley chose a fun, flirty white floral frock with deep illusion cutout from For Love & Lemons (which, we have to say, we approve of—it makes this dress much more appropriate). She teamed it with accessories in varying shades of brown—sunglasses perched on top of her adorable bob, a long leather shoulder bag and T-strap leather wedges.

Lucy went for a more sophisticated look in a paisley peplum top with pretty floral lace inserts ($76 at topshop.com). She added bold jewelry, nude peep-toe pumps and a pleather mini by Free People. (Note: we love the angled zip pockets.)

Would you try either of these looks?
Red on red? That’s what a lot of celebrities seem to be doing recently! There’s no danger of these ladies blending into the carpet, though—not with dresses as hot as they’re wearing! We love that while each celeb is wearing red, they’re all doing it in such different ways. It’s interesting to see each woman’s take on the trend.

Jaime-King-Audrina-Patridge-Malin-Akerman-Red-Dresses.jpgJaime King went to the InStyle Summer Soiree in a floaty number by Marchesa, complete with ruffles and a see-through top. Audrina Patridge went for a body-skimming halter dress by Heather and cutout black shooties at an event in Hollywood. Also at the InStyle party, Malin Akerman went for a sexy Old Hollywood glamour look in a Cushnie et Ochs gown with plunging front cutout and deep front slit.

Khloe-Kardashian-Jennifer-Garner-Meryl-Streep-Red-Dresses.jpgKhloe Kardashian Odom wore a long-sleeved mullet dress to an event for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Jennifer Garner rocked a draped sheath by Lanvin for the premiere of her new movie, The Odd Life of Timothy Green. Even Meryl Streep got in on the red action, pairing her Milly dress with a wide black belt for the premiere of her new movie Hope Springs!

What do you think of the red trend?
