NataliePortmancape.jpgNatalie Portman recently stepped out in wide-leg trousers and a tunic underneath a blue cape and silk neck scarf. It’s something we would NEVER think to do on our own, but it’s kinda stylish, right?

solidtrend.jpgWe’re seeing a pattern here. Charlize Theron, Anne Hathaway ,Christina Applegate and Jennifer Garner all wore autumnal solid colors to events recently.Coincidence? Maybe. But we’re definitely sensing a trend here.

FreidaPintoblackwhite.jpgFreida Pinto looks lovely here. We’re not crazy about the bag with the dress (actually, we’re really not crazy about the bag at all), but what we do really think is cute is her simple black and white look - black opaque tights with black flats and a white dress with just a hint of black on top. Add black accessories like a couple of chains and some shades and we think this is a great look that can transition from day to night.

IRO Yahali Tunic in Ivory, $48 (on sale) at revolveclothing.com
Multichain fireball necklace, $29.50 at express.com
Solid opaque tights in black, $15 at bananarepublic.com

Charlizewearable.jpgOkay, please don’t take this the wrong way, but, unless Charlize Theron herself is reading this blog, you cannot pull off this look. And you really, really cannot pull off those shoes.

Luckly, we have found totally wearable versions of Charlize’s beautiful cobalt draped dress and cream-colored heels.  This banana republic dress has the exact same feel and look to the one-shouldered dress Charlize was wearing.

Cowlneck wrap dress, $99.99 (on sale) at bananarepublic.com
Swish bootie, $145 at yoox.com
YSL lipstick in star red, $30 at sephora.com

What was she thinking??

Doesn’t Jennifer Garner use Rachel Zoe as her stylist? What went wrong here? Was Rachel unavailable to style Jen for the premiere of The Invention of Lying?

Everything about this look seems really old.  From the black and lavender floral print to the black satin pumps…it’s very 1996.

Maybe this is one of those outfits that doesn’t photograph well. The dress could be navy, and the print could be lovely up close. The shoes could be navy or a deep purple too.

Yeah…we’ll just imagine.
