The purple belted Maria Pinto dress that Michelle Obama wore the night Barack Obama cinched the Democratic Party’s nomination immediately stamped Michelle as a ‘fashionista’ and the next possible Jackie O. It’s not the most common shade of purple, so we don’t think it’s a coincidence that it’s becoming a popular color.
Zooey Deschanel wore Christian Dior designed by John Galliano to the premiere of Yes Man, but the dress was not a success. Something about the fit was off. Eva Mendes wore a similar dress (from the same Fall 2008 Dior collection) and she had it tailored to fit her perfectly. It looks like Zooey shortened the skirt of the dress, which gave it even more volume.
Ginnifer Goodwin and Lauren Conrad both wore little black skirts with black tights and pointy-toe heels to a recent Dolce and Gabbana event. Lauren accessorized with dark nail polish and a black bow headband while Ginnifer piled on gold chains and a gold pump. So who wore it best? We are in love with Ginnifer’s layered necklaces, but wish she would have stuck with a darker shoe like Lauren’s simple black (or are they dark purple?) pair.
