Eva-Longoria-Lays-Do-Us-a-Flavor-Contest-Hollywood-May-2013.jpgWe always appreciate when a star tries something new, but Eva kind of overdid it at the recent Lays Do Us A Flavor contest winner unveiling in Hollywood. The actress opted for some edge courtesy of this black Izmaylova creation with sheer sleeves. Her unconventional little black dress wasn’t the real issue, though. Eva should have left well enough alone and skipped the Reed Krakoff mesh peeptoe booties along with the smoky eye.

Are you loving Eva’s edgier look or do you think she took it a step too far?

Gwyneth-Paltrow-2013-Met-Gala.jpgBlake-Lively-2013-Met-Gala.jpgHeidi-Klum-2013-Met-Gala.jpg

Although the exhibit may be called Punk: Chaos to Couture, there were quite a few celebs at Monday night’s Met Gala who circumvented the chaos and went straight for couture. Gwyneth Paltrow was probably one of the event’s biggest offenders in this bubblegum pink Valentino gown with nude inset. Wilfredo Rosado earrings completed her sweet look. Blake Lively certainly represented the Gucci Première brand well in a light green strapless gown with black organza skirt accented by an embellished feather pattern at the waist. A pair of Lorraine Schwartz statement earrings polished off the stunning look. It was a marvelous Marchesa Fall 2013 white embellished gown for Heidi Klum on the red carpet. Harry Winston gems and Jimmy Choo shoes served as accessories.

Calvin Klein designed the rather ethereal ivory halter gown Katie Holmes wore to the gala. The actress also relied on Lorraine Schwartz jewels to finish off her look. Model Kate Upton arrived in an emerald Diane von Furstenberg draped gown. The designer’s gold clutch rounded out the look. Zac Posen was behind Uma Thurman’s dramatic green gown with cascading train. She did make a bit of a rebellious statement, though courtesy of that Efva Attling Funky Ring.

Despite the fact that these stars shunned the night’s established theme, we’re still impressed with the glamorous nature of their real show-stopping gowns. After all, isn’t going against the establishment what punk’s all about?

Alice-Eve-London-Premiere-of-Star-Trek-Into-Darkness-May-2013.jpgThe latest Star Trek film has been blessed with two truly stylish stars. Zoe Saldana has been getting the majority of attention on the red carpet, but her co-star Alice Eve has been more than holding her own during the movie’s recent promotional tour. Take the form-fitting strapless suede dress from Ermanno Scervino’s Pre-Fall 2013 offering she wore to the London premiere last week. Alice accessorized with a reversed black belt and two-tone Manolo Blahnik for Holmes & Yang sandals.

There’s no doubt that Alice is also on a fashion roll. Do you love her premiere style as much as we do?

Roksanda Illincic provided a new twist on colorblocking in her Pre-Fall 2012 collection with her Izumi dress. The sleek creation featured bold frilled cuffs, which provided a pretty polished accent. Princess Beatrice opted to wear the blush-colored dress with electric blue cuffs to the Britain Creates 2012: Fashion & Art Collusion gala in London back in June 2012. The royal rounded out the look with an embellished clutch by Anya Hindmarch and a blue pair of Nicholas Kirkwood pumps. Just a few days later in Paris, Marisa Tomei also appeared in the dynamic dress at the Berluti private dinner during Paris Fashion Week Menswear Spring 2013. A nude clutch and Aperlaï Demi Circle sandals served as accessories. Rita Ora became the latest star to sport the Izumi when she attended the Future Vintage launch for the annual British Designers’ Collective boutique in England last week. Her red version was combined with statement earrings as well as white and yellow Nicholas Kirkwood sandals.

While we love the intense red hue of Rita’s version, we have to give this one to the princess because both Rita and Marisa’s accessories distracted from the eye-catching dress. Do you agree that Princess Beatrice wore it best?

Kate-Hudson-Visits-Late-Show-with-David-Letterman-New-York-City-April-2013.jpgRosie-Huntington-Whiteley-Vogue-Michael-Kors-Dinner-London-April-2013.jpgNicole-Richie-2013-AOL-Digital-Content-Newfront-New-York-City-April-2013.jpg

White pumps have been popping up everywhere recently. What’s really interesting is that the designers behind the stark footwear are pretty varied from Manolo Blahnik to Guess. Kate Hudson sported a pair of white Christian Louboutin pumps on her way into the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City to appear on the Late Show with David Letterman late last month, which set off her Michael Kors Pre-Fall 2013 hot pink top and black pencil skirt. The very next day over in London, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley opted for the emerging trend courtesy of Jean-Michel Cazabat at the Alexandra Shulman and Vogue dinner honoring Michael Kors. Her printed strapless dress also came from the designer’s Pre-Fall 2013 collection and was complemented by a JewelMint necklace. Several days later back in New York City, Nicole Richie hit up the AOL 2013 Digital Content NewFront decked out in a white Saint Laurent chain embellished cady dress. She rounded out her crisp look with matching pumps by Manolo Blahnik.

We’re actually digging this fresh trend, but what are your thoughts on celebs favoring white pumps for spring?
