Demi-Lovato-1027-KIIS-FM-Wango-Tango-2013-Carson-California-May-2013.jpgDemi has served as a sort of Topshop ambassador for awhile now, but her latest look isn’t receiving top marks. The performer hit the red carpet at 102.7 KIIS FM’s Wango Tango 2013 concert in Carson, California on Saturday in an all-black ensemble. She combined an incredibly sheer tie-dye tunic by Raquel Allegra with a black bralette, a pair of Topshop Disco treggings and Saint Laurent Janis pumps with studded heel. Demi also piled on the accessories, including black necklaces and a large cocktail ring.

While we actually like those $40 Topshop treggings and that truly funky hairstyle, the rest of her outfit is way too over-the-top even for concert attire. What are your thoughts on Demi’s revealing look?

Karolina-Kurkova-out-and-about-New-York-City-May-2013.jpgThe words “culotte” and “skort” aren’t usually associated with style these days, but Karolina proved just how trendy both words can still be. Earlier this month, the supermodel and TV personality was spotted out in New York City sporting a pair of deep blue culotte shorts from Zara. The bright shorts actually have the silhouette of a mini skirt thanks to an amazing asymmetrical front, even though the piece still looks like shorts from the back. Karolina also layered a gray T-shirt under a Sandro Vernis jacket and a Gryson Ruby bag. Black booties finished off the look.

You can pick up a pair of Zara’s dynamic shorts for the very reasonable price of just $49.90.

Miranda-Kerr-NYC-Screening-of-The-Great-Gatsby-May-2013.jpgMiranda seems to have an almost superhuman ability to make everything look good. Even with this well-documented power, we’re still on the fence about her ensemble at a New York City screening of The Great Gatsby earlier this week. Her floral-print one shoulder Vivienne Westwood Anglomania Fall 2013 jumpsuit was simultaneously elegant and awkward thanks to its draped fit. Neutral-colored Alexander Wang Antonia sandals capped off the look. Although we can’t quite come to terms with our feelings regarding the graphic jumpsuit, we can definitively declare that her white Prada Saffiano Promenade tote should have been left at home.

Do you love or hate Miranda’s floral one-piece?

Eva-Longoria-Lays-Do-Us-a-Flavor-Contest-Hollywood-May-2013.jpgWe always appreciate when a star tries something new, but Eva kind of overdid it at the recent Lays Do Us A Flavor contest winner unveiling in Hollywood. The actress opted for some edge courtesy of this black Izmaylova creation with sheer sleeves. Her unconventional little black dress wasn’t the real issue, though. Eva should have left well enough alone and skipped the Reed Krakoff mesh peeptoe booties along with the smoky eye.

Are you loving Eva’s edgier look or do you think she took it a step too far?

Gwyneth-Paltrow-2013-Met-Gala.jpgBlake-Lively-2013-Met-Gala.jpgHeidi-Klum-2013-Met-Gala.jpg

Although the exhibit may be called Punk: Chaos to Couture, there were quite a few celebs at Monday night’s Met Gala who circumvented the chaos and went straight for couture. Gwyneth Paltrow was probably one of the event’s biggest offenders in this bubblegum pink Valentino gown with nude inset. Wilfredo Rosado earrings completed her sweet look. Blake Lively certainly represented the Gucci Première brand well in a light green strapless gown with black organza skirt accented by an embellished feather pattern at the waist. A pair of Lorraine Schwartz statement earrings polished off the stunning look. It was a marvelous Marchesa Fall 2013 white embellished gown for Heidi Klum on the red carpet. Harry Winston gems and Jimmy Choo shoes served as accessories.

Katie-Holmes-2013-Met-Gala.jpgKate-Upton-2013-Met-Gala.jpgUma-Thurman-2013-Met-Gala.jpg

Calvin Klein designed the rather ethereal ivory halter gown Katie Holmes wore to the gala. The actress also relied on Lorraine Schwartz jewels to finish off her look. Model Kate Upton arrived in an emerald Diane von Furstenberg draped gown. The designer’s gold clutch rounded out the look. Zac Posen was behind Uma Thurman’s dramatic green gown with cascading train. She did make a bit of a rebellious statement, though courtesy of that Efva Attling Funky Ring.

Despite the fact that these stars shunned the night’s established theme, we’re still impressed with the glamorous nature of their real show-stopping gowns. After all, isn’t going against the establishment what punk’s all about?
