Molly-Sims-Turquoise-Earrings.jpgMolly Sims always has amazing style. And at the QVZ Buzz on the Red Carpet party last week, she was rocking an amazing pair of oversized turquoise earrings. We love the color, we love the silhouette and we love that they make such a fabulous statement, especially teamed with a simple ponytail and floral frock. Here are a few pairs for you to try!

1) Diana Warner Chelsea Earrings ($94 at designsbystephene.com)
2) Helene Jewelry Turquoise and Seed Bead Marquis Earring ($113 at endless.com)

Finally, the big finale to the year’s awards season: the 84th Annual Academy Awards. We didn’t see many ballgowns on the red carpet, but what the dresses lacked in volume they made up for with beautiful fabrics and chic detailing.

LBD: Lovely Black Dresses

Tina Fey, in Carolina Herrera, Rose Byrne, in Vivienne Westwood, and Glenn Close, in (an almost-black deep green) Zac Posen showed black isn’t so basic when a peplum detail, sequins, or a smart tuxedo jacket is added.

Whites that Wow

The dresses above were the most gush worthy to us. Rooney Mara, in a Givenchy dress she says she picked earlier that morning, Mila Jovovich, in Elie Saab Couture, and Gwyneth Paltrow, in Tom Ford all exemplified simple elegance.

Gold Standard

Wendi McLendon-Covey, in an embellished strapless gown, Stacy Kiebler, in Marchesa, and Kristen Wiig, in J. Mendel all looked fabulous in nude and metallic toned dresses.

Bright Hues

oscars-2012-bright-dresses.jpgMichelle Williams, in Louis Vuitton, Maya Rudolph, in Johanna Johnson, Viola Davis in Vera Wang and Emma Stone (below) in Giambattista Valli Haute Couture all lit up the red carpet in pretty technicolor hues.

A Little Sparkle

Octavia Spencer, in Tadashi Shoji, and Jennifer Lopez, in Zuhair Murad wowed us in their sparkle plenty dresses that hugged their curves in all the right places.

We’ve always loved the fashion label Mulberry for their chic handbags that are fashionable and functional, but we totally forgot what great frocks they made.

Michelle Williams and Elizabeth Olsen remind us in their fashion forward looks seen at left as they enjoyed the label’s after-party during London Fashion Week.

Not only do we love the leather and lace combo of Michelle’s dress, we also can’t take our eyes off the shimmery gorgeousness of Elizabeth’s gown.

In a sea of black and white, not to mention the dreariness of winter, it’s always nice to see some celebrities take chances with color. And at the Vanity Fair and Juicy Couture “Vanities” 20th Anniversary Party this week, that’s exactly what happened! There were a veritable plethora of hues on the red carpet, making for a truly gorgeous rainbow as celebs walked along it.

Emmy-Rossum-Hayden-Panettiere-Bright-Dresses.jpgBrightly hued silk frocks
Both Emmy Rossum and Hayden Panettiere wore dresses in unbelievably bright silk. Emmy teamed her one-shoulder teal Jenny Packham frock with coral nails, while Hayden paired her red Gucci gown with the Lauren Merkin “Lucy” Clutch in bright, sunny yellow.

Paula-Patton-Jessica-Chastain-Olivia-Munn.jpgBright flowers
Paula Patton in Zac Posen, Jessica Chastain in J. Mendel and Olivia Munn in Lela Rose all went for brightly patterned florals. We love Paula’s rocker chick take with a purple leather jacket, and Olivia’s springy floral dress. Jessica’s skirt suit with ruffled jacket and peplum skirt didn’t do much for her, but we appreciate that she got in on the bright color trend of the evening.

Which look was your favorite?
Adele-red-lip-trend.jpg

We loved Adele’s elegant LBD on the red carpet over a week ago at the Grammy Awards, but it was her bold beauty look that kept our attention. Mimicking looks we saw on the Spring runways, Adele shows us how to pull off retro glamor with her ruby lips, winged eyeliner and pretty coiffed hair.
