Young-Hollywood-BAFTA-Tea-Party.jpgYoung Hollywood has totally taken the red carpet by storm as of late. Not that we don’t still love Jennifer Aniston, Demi Moore and all the rest … but we’re continuously enamored of the fun looks young girls in Hollywood are putting together for red carpet events.

Take, for example, the 18th Annual BAFTA Los Angeles Award Season Tea Party held last week. Modern Family’s Ariel Winter, Chloe Grace Moretz and Shailene Woodley (most recently of The Descendants) all went for fun, sophisticated, and most importantly, age-appropriate red carpet looks. We’re loving Ariel’s baby blue cocktail dress with exaggerated shoulders, Chloe’s embellished sweater and striped pencil skirt, and Shailene’s bold patterned sundress.

We can’t wait to see what the young celebrities in Hollywood do next!
cameron-diaz-wavy-cropped-cut.jpgWe usually love Cameron Diaz’s cool quirky looks, but the jury is still out on how we feel about her wavy cropped cut she rocked at Sunday’s Golden Globes. While we like the look of waves we might have liked to see them a little more controlled, and perhaps a little longer. On the other hand this is a fresh exciting look we’re not used to seeing Cameron wear, and that’s always fun.

What do you think of her Golden Globes hair: love it, or hate it?

Now that we’ve had a little time to reflect on the fashion and beauty from Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards, of course we had to bring you our favorite beauty trends! The celebrities truly brought a new meaning to the word beauty this year.

Kate-Winslet-Jessica-Alba-Golden-Globes.jpgUpdos with sideswept bangs
Jessica Alba and Kate Winslet both went for elegant updos, softening them with sideswept bangs. We love that each went for a glossy pinkish nude lip and lots of lashes as well.

Michelle-Williams-Charlize-Theron-Headbands.jpgHeadbands
A few celebrities got the memo that Gossip Girl-style headbands were all the rage again this year! Michelle Williams and Charlize Theron dazzled not only with their gowns but with this girly hair accessory.

Amanda Peet and Debra Messing both went for kohl-rimmed eyes and nude lips. Further drama was brought with updos and attention-grabbing earrings. Sarah Hyland got in on the trend but softened it up with cascades of curls.

Red-Lips-Golden-Globes.jpgRed lips
You didn’t think a few celebrities could get by without the most dramatic lip color of all, did you? Claire Danes (who won her third Golden Globe, this time for Homeland), Kathleen Robertson and Missi Pyle all had different but bold takes on the trend.

Big-Hair-Golden-Globes.jpgBig, long, flowing locks
Okay, does Elle Macpherson age? She looks just as incredible now as she did 20 years ago. That aside, she joined Katharine McPhee (whose raven tresses were accented by touches of caramel) and Reese Witherspoon in sporting what we like to refer to as big Texas hair.

Ponytails-Golden-Globes.jpgGirly ponytails
What a refreshing change to see some celebs having fun with their hair this year! We love a girly ponytail—and, as it would seem, so do Julianna Margulies, Nicole Richie and Sarah Michelle Gellar. We’re especially enamored of Richi
The 69th Annual Golden Globes took place last night in Los Angeles, and the red carpet did not disappoint. Overall the looks were chic and glamorous, with some stylish red carpet veterans showing us they still got it.

The Glitterati

Golden-Globes-Glittering -Dresses-1.jpg Golden-Globes-Glittering-Dresses-2.jpg Claire Danes, in J. Mendel, Evan Rachel Wood, in Gucci, Zooey Deschanel, in Prada and Lea Michele in Marchesa gleamed and glittered on the red carpet in shimmering gowns with intricate sparkling details; including peek-a-boo sleeves and sexy cutout backs.

Simply Chic

Golden-Globes-Simple-Dresses.jpgAs much as we  loved all the sparkles of the lovely ladies above, we were equally enamored with the simplicity of the Heidi Klum, in Calvin Klein (he does simple dresses so well. Who could forget Emma at last year’s awards), Kate Winslet, in Jenny Packham and Reese Witherspoon in Zac Posen. With natural makeup, simple hair and minimal accessories these looks screamed ‘less is more.’

A Little Shimmer
Golden-Globes-shimmer-dresses.jpg
Nicole Richie, in Julien MacDonald, Jessica Alba, in Gucci, and Kate Beckinsale in Roberto Cavalli looked sleek in shimmery gowns that shine in a subtle sophisticated way. We are so used to Nicole’s haute hippie looks (which we love) that we were taken aback by her departure from this  style in her figure flattering gown that was pure Hollywood glamor.

Dark Magic

Golden-Globes-Dark-dresses.jpgEmma Stone, in Lanvin, Rooney Mara, in Nina Ricci and Mila Kunis in Christian Dior all looked lovely in dark gowns with  beautiful bodices that were elegant with an edge.

Trained in Style

Golden-Globes-Dresses-with-trains.jpgGolden-Globes-Sofia-Vergara.jpgTrains always look so grand on red carpet dresses, and the ones above were no exception. Charlize Theron above left in Dior and Sofia Vergara directly above in Vera Wang went big with long sweeping trains while Julianne Moore’s Chanel gown had a small train that gave her gown a little more flair.

Hands down Charlize is wearing our favorite gown. We love her fashion-forward dress and the ’20s style hair and makeup that accompanied her look.  We want to know: who was your favorite?
