Anchors aweigh: Nautical goes literal this season

Like florals in springtime, the post-holiday winter season always ushers in a fresh crop of nautical-inspired pieces. Striped Breton tops, sailor-style piping, boat shoes…they’ve become as consistent as gravity. 2013’s nautical, however, seems to be going even more literal with anchor prints in every size, shape and color. From crystal studded anchor jewelry to all-over anchor print tops and pants, this nautical symbol adds a bit of whimsical fun to your overall look. And because of its genderless appeal, anchor prints are as plentiful in the men’s department as they are in women’s and children’s styles. Don’t go overboard (pun totally intended) but add an anchor here or there for an update on winter nautical this year.
