Black tie optional: tuxedo blazers go casual

The only rule really left in the fashion world is that anything goes. Wearing white after Labor Day? Fine. Patent Leather in winter? Approved. Mixing designer and inexpensive pieces? Highly recommended. And then we have the last line that has officially blurred: black tie formal with casual styles. We’ve been wearing tuxedo jackets and blazers during the holiday season for years but it’s officially time to break them out for other, more casual events, too. Try pairing your favorite tux blazer with dark denim for a weekend dinner. If you subscribe to the ‘no fear’ policy in fashion, try one with tights and shorts or with boyfriend jeans and pumps. Basic black is always easy and versatile but for a little fun, choose a color like the jeweltone green style below.
