Fall beauty bag essentials from Stila makeup artist Sarah Lucero

Sarah-Lucero-Stila.jpgSo, we’ve been really into Stila lately (if you couldn’t tell). They’ve had so many great releases this season, we really can’t help but gush. After testing tons of new products, we reached out to Sarah Lucero, Stila’s pro makeup artist and a regular at Fashion Week, for her tips on what every woman needs this fall in her makeup bag. For starters, she prompted us on some autumn advice: “Fall is all about texture and bold color when it comes to makeup,” she says. More specifically? Here’s what she suggests you shouldn’t be without:

Foundation. “Every woman needs a foundation that will create polished and flawless looking skin daily. I like Stila One Step Makeup Foundation for every day wear, because it has a primer, foundation, concealer and powder built into every pump.”
Double duty cheek and lip color. “Stila Convertible Color is the best cream cheek and lip color. Peony is the best shade for every skin tone and it warms up the cheeks and leaves a smooth and soft glow on skin, which is perfect for fall and winter.”

Eyeshadow palettes. “They are an easy way to change up your look as easily as changing your outfit! Stila’s Backstage Eyeshadow Palette includes six shades created by me that were inspired by fall runway trends. I love the satin and silky texture. Plus, you can use them wet for an intense effect or sweep it on dry for a wash of color.”
Mascara. “Mascara is always a makeup bag must-have. Look for a creamy formula so you can build volume and length by applying a few coats. If you are doing a strong cat eye, simply direct a second coat of mascara towards the corner lashes to enhance eyes. If I’m doing doll-like eyes on a client, I like to add a little extra mascara to the center of the top and lower lashes to create a wide-eye effect. That’s also a great trick for tired eyes.”
On-the-go fresheners. “I love the cranberry Triad Toner Pads by Arcona. They freshen up my skin after work or on the airplane when I’m jumping around between photo shoots. Also, Mario Badescu makes a great rose water spray and I like to carry this with me to set my makeup and I use it on clients to tone their skin. It has a soothing smell and feels amazing throughout the day.”
