Metallics, shades of blue and tulle all collaborated to make this year’s Grammy Awards more glamorous than outrageous. Strapless gowns were popular, while plunging necklines and cut-outs also gained favor on the red carpet. Even though big name fashion houses made notable appearances at the ceremony, lesser-known designers like Michael Costello and Johanna Johnson were also surprisingly well-represented. Here are some stylish highlights from the annual awards.
Taylor Swift had a metallic moment decked out in this Gucci Première short sleeve gown. The nominee polished off the look with diamond earrings. Ralph Lauren was behind the double-breasted black Spring 2014 tuxedo Madonna wore to the awards. She added several statement accessories, including a cross pendant, an embellished fingerless glove, a black cane, a black hat and even a grill. Katy Perry’s white tulle Valentino gown punctuated by musical notes comes from the just presented Spring 2014 Couture collection. Chandelier earrings and a braided bun wrapped up the look.
Ciara embraced her growing baby bump in Emilio Pucci. Her beaded printed gown had a pretty revealing neckline. Pink went with a red Johanna Johnson strapless gown on the equally red carpet. Neil Lane gems and black satin Brian Atwood Anais platform sandals completed the look. Alicia Keys opted for Armani Privé last night. Her striking blue gown included a black embellished bow belt.
It was an embellished Azzaro Fall 2013 cut-out gown for Anna Kendrick at the ceremony. She accessorized with a Joan Hornig cuff and Barbara Bui silver heels. The Emanuel Ungaro Spring 2014 creation Zendaya Coleman selected featured a black semi-sheer blouse and a teal polka dot skirt. An Edie Parker clutch and black Christian Louboutin heels concluded the look. Iggy Azalea stood out in Elie Saab in Los Angeles. Her white embellished gown comes from the designer’s Pre-Fall 2013 offering.
We really liked Taylor’s Gucci Première, Katy’s musical Valentino, Ciara’s embellished Emilio Pucci and Pink’s red hot gown. Which star was your favorite from music’s biggest night?
