Red carpet: Standout looks from the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards

Bright colors and paler hues shared the red carpet spotlight at Sunday’s 65th Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles. Statement jewelry and extravagant hemlines helped set off a lot of gowns at the annual ceremony with celebs also relying on flashy details to get noticed in such an impressive crowd. Here are a few of the more memorable ensembles from TV’s big night.

Kerry Washington completely redeemed herself from her Halston Heritage disaster by stepping out in this embellished Marchesa Spring 2014 gown with ribbons and floral appliqués. Fred Leighton gems, an Edie Parker clutch and Christian Louboutin pumps rounded out the look. Mad Men‘s January Jones looked lovely in this strapless Givenchy dusty rose gown with lace-accented skirt. Cartier earrings and Givenchy shoes served as accessories. It was an ice blue J. Mendel Resort 2014 gown with keyhole detail for Zooey Deschanel at the awards. She wrapped up the look with a ring by Chanel, an Edie Parker clutch and Charlotte Olympia Paloma pumps.

Jessica Paré‘s turquoise Oscar de la Renta Spring 2014 ball gown featured a high-low hemline that perfectly showed off her black sandals. Pendant earrings completed the look. Claire Danes picked up her Emmy in this revealing Armani Privé Fall 2013 creation with lace skirt. The actress accessorized with Neil Lane jewelry and Christian Louboutin sandals. This Donna Karan Atelier plum ruffled strapless gown was Linda Cardellini‘s striking choice for the red carpet. Irene Neuwirth earrings, a Rauwolf clutch and Jimmy Choo pumps finished off the look.

The Project Runway host made an impact in Atelier Versace. Heidi‘s slightly dominatrix Fall 2013 gown was elegantly styled with Lorraine Schwartz earrings and Christian Louboutin heels. Sofia Vergara turned up the heat on the red carpet in this rich red Vera Wang lace gown with trumpet skirt. Colorful Lorraine Schwartz earrings concluded the look. Tina Fey took a glamorous turn in Narciso Rodriguez. She complemented her cobalt-colored gown with Fred Leighton jewels and Roger Vivier Bibendum platform sandals.

We loved Claire’s barely-there Armani Privé, January’s demure Givenchy and Linda’s ruffled gown. Who wins your vote for best dressed at this year’s Emmy Awards?
