Etsy designers give to Japan

etsy_japanrelief_thumb.gifIf you want to support disaster relief in Japan and emerging artists, a host of Etsy designers have committed to donating a portion of their sales to the cause. Here are some of our picks:

Made from Japanese Washi paper, this necklace by Menace Creations features an origami paper crane and a gold foil bead charm hanging from cloth ribbon and waxed cotton. When you buy it, 50% of the sale price will be donated to Doctors Without Borders for ongoing relief efforts in Japan. Origami Paper Crane Necklace ($20).

Need a hostess gift? These heart-shaped handmade soaps are made with essential oils, herbs, and plants in Calcata, Italy. The seller, Sofiart, will donate all profits to the Red Cross. Sofiart 10 Lovely Hearts for Loving People Soaps ($12).

Simple yet elegant, this gold nugget bracelet is another item we love on Etsy. The seller, Harper Street,  will donate $5 to the Red Cross for each one sold. Golden Nugget Red Silk Necklace ($25).

Vermont-based Broken Fingers Art, which produces plastic jewelry bearing bright, creative hand drawn designs, will also donate 50% of sales to Doctors Without Borders. Broken Fingers Art Chrysalis Ring ($18).
