Denim Looks For Work, Weekend And Evening

by Daisy Lewellyn

Skinny, boyfriend, relaxed fit, casual… the list goes on. There are so many different names, shapes and silhouettes of jeans, and we haven’t even touched colors, brands and designs. No need to hire a denim doctor to cure the confusion, here is your daily dose of denim for three common occasions and scenarios to take you through Labor Day and beyond:

Casual Chic Friday in the Office

Perfect jean: Noir White Rivet Bootcut Jean from White House Black Market (one of Michelle Obama’s select recessionista stores)

Look for jeans that:

*Are cut similar to pants or trousers like boot cut or trouser jeans.

*Have a smooth clean leg, free of excessive design, embellishments, whiskers and distressed rips or finish.

*Are sophisticated enough that you feel confident meeting with the boss, and chic enough to wear after work to meet the boy for a little nosh and nibble.

Note: Post summer, go for a darker rinse if you prefer to leave crisp white jeans for summer

Saturday Morning To Do List

Perfect Jean: Calvin Klein Jeans Boyfriend Jeans Brushed Gold Wash

Look for Jeans that:

*Are comfy but stylishly appropriate to wear to the drugstore and to a chic brunch. The perfect lovechild of a denim bermuda short and a classic pair of jeans is named the boyfriend jean.

*Can easily transition into a perfect afternoon lunch date denim option.

*Are a perfect canvas to pair with bright colors that will bring some livelihood to Saturday morning. Bright colors are no longer limited to your freshly squeezed ginger orange beet juice!

Rock Concert First Date Night

Perfect Jean: Zelda Skinny Leg Jean-Bleach Dye Destroyed Express

Look for Jeans that:

*Are fitted, skinny, and sexy enough to make you feel like you are the star of the evening.

*Fit similar to a legging, but have a little more control in the bum and thigh area.

*Scream “no rules”. Anything goes for the evening, including a distressed wash, whiskers, bleach spots and some good ol’ fashioned tattered tears.

I am a boot cut fanatic. Maybe because I think this is the best fit for me. What are your recommendation for best buys/brands for boot cut styled jeans?
