Rugby-striped shawl cardigan

Even though it’s fall, I still love the nautical look. I’ll reach for this and a pair of jeans every rainy day this fall, and when spring and summer comes, I’ll wear it over a tank and shorts for windy days at the beach or when I go to the movies (it’s always cold in the theater, even in summer).

Wool-Blend Cadet Jackets

This jacket is a classic combination of navy wool with gold buttons, but the price is anything but typical.

Deux Lux Embroidered Foldover Bag

I’m done with small satchels and frame bags, I need a large hobo that I can stuff in everything I need. It might be heavy, but I’ve been caught too many times without my camera, Blackberry charger, sewing kit, iPod…whatever. This fall, it all comes with me.

Nottingham tall leather flat boots

J.Crew makes comfortable flat boots and the quality is really great. I love the ‘dark mushroom’ color they have this season, I’ll definitely wear them into February and March. Hint: I get the extended calf version – you pay a little extra, but it’s much easier to tuck your jeans into.

Dark rinse denim pencil skirt

I must have at least three denim skirts hanging in my closet already, but I always find a reason to get another. This versatile dark-rinse will look great with my new grey-brown boots and when it gets colder I can wear tights with it as well.

Bow Ring

I think I’ve come close to buying about a dozen gold bow rings over the past few years. This one looks great and the price is nice, so I think I’ll finally do it. It’s a simple and chic accessory that I probably won’t take off for the next three months.

Danver Necklace

Statement necklaces are still a huge trend for this fall and holiday season. This one is sparkly, but still casual with it’s red jersey ribbon. I can dress it up or down.

Ruffle-trimmed shirt

I think I buy a new white shirt at the start of every new season. There’s something so sophisticated about a nice-fitting button-up shirt paired with dark jeans and simple jewelry. This one has a lovely ruffle detail without being too frilly. I’ll take it!

Latico P.S. Pleated Buckle Clutch

I can always use another small clutch for weekend brunches and dinners with friends, but I can put my makeup in it and stuff it inside my large handbag too.

NARS Sheer Lipstick, Belle du Jour

I searched long and hard for a matte nude lipstick and this one is perfect. I finish it off with a bit of clear gloss – it’s the perfect complement to a slightly smokey eye.
