Don’t want to broadcast to the world that you were up all night? Follow these simple tips to banish puffy eyes.
Rub an eye cream under your eyes. Keep your eye cream in the fridge so that it will help cool and calm the eye area. Our favorite is Patricia Wexler M.D. Dermatology Fastscription Instant De-Puff Eye Gel ($19.50 at Bath & Body Works) because it visibly reduces puffiness almost immediately.
Cut up a cool cucumber, a natural astringent that helps minimize swelling, and rub a slice all over your face in a circular motion.
Don’t have a cucumber or an eye cream? Anything cold will do (an ice cube wrapped in a paper towel or spoons put in the freezer). Just apply for five minutes when you wake up.
Sleep at least seven hours every night. This one may seem obvious, but it’s the best cure for puffy eyes!
Guzzle water and cut down on salt intake to reduce water retention, which can contribute to puffy eyes.
