New York Fashion Week gift bags: our favorite products

Although many designers have cut back to save costs, gift bags are still offered at many shows during fashion week. Companies sponsor them to get their products into the hands of celebrities and editors. We scored some amazing goodies this week, and (somehow) found time to test out our new beauty products in between running around the city to shows and after parties. Here are three hair products that really stood out:

The folks at LNA gave visitors to their presentation at Milk Studios Crème de Coco shampoo and conditioner from Bumble & Bumble ($21 and $22 at The rich moisturizing product smells delicious, and it leaves hair soft and frizz-free.

bumblebumble10.pngJonathan Simkhai launched his debut collection this season with a gallery presentation, and attendees leaving the show were handed bags of samples from the John Barrett Salon at Bergdorf Goodman. All of the products worked well, but we couldn’t get over how amazing the weekly treatments, left our hair feeling. Described as a “facial for your hair,” the Be Cleansed shampoo ($30) and Be Conditioned conditioner ($30 at removed product buildup then moisturized and repaired our damaged strands. These products are a splurge, but well worth it.

At eco-friendly collection Thieves by Sonja Den Elsen, guests received KMS Color Vitality Shine and Shield, a lilac- and ginger-infused styling cream meant to add shine and protect hair from heat. Since this week involved a lot of flat ironing, this product got plenty of use. It left hair feeling soft and looking shiny – score! Available at select salons, for locations visit
