We Tried It: the Conair Infiniti Tournaline Hair Designer

417WTR148TL._SS500_.jpgUsually when I see beauty products advertised on TV, I roll my eyes. The Smooth Away? The Bump It? Friends who have purchased these items admit that they are pretty ineffective. So when I got the “As Seen On TV” Conair Infiniti Tournaline Hair Designer for Christmas, I almost wrote it off as a piece of junk. But I needed a new blow dryer anyway, so I decided to give it a try. And I was pleasantly surprised!

This dryer’s claim to fame is that it straightens and smoothes hair with attached ceramic plates while it dries. I tested it on my medium-length, relatively thick wavy hair, and here’s the verdict:
The Infinity actually did straighten my hair. After about fifteen minutes of drying time, my hair was smooth, frizz-free, and relatively straight. It was still a little curled under at the ends, but I prefer that look to pin straight. I used a paddle brush to brush my hair and hold it taught while combing through it with the ceramic plates.
My only complaint is that it’s tough to use on the back of your hair. I had to go over the back of my head with a flat iron a couple times before I went out. However, the Infinity definitely saved me some time in the bathroom!
Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone looking to save time and have smoother, frizz-free hair. The Infiniti is available at drugstore.com for $38.99.
