Finalists of the 2008 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund have created a limited edition for Gap inspired by the classic Gap khaki. The collection launched online yesterday and will be available in select stores for a limited time only starting June 19.

In case you didn’t know, the CFDA Awards are pretty much the Oscars of fashion, so the opportunity to wear a piece designed by one of the finalists is practically an honor. And for $88 or less, how can you pass it up?
In the past, Gap has partnered with CFDA winners Phillip Lim, Rodarte and Doo.Ri. This year, the finalists were Vena Cava, Albertus Swanpoel and Alexander Wang. What do you think? Will you be scrambling to the nearest Gap on June 19 to score some designer khaki?
Vena Cava
Designers Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai were finalists for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award in 2007 and won the Runner-Up prize in 2008. They have been designing together since graduating from Parsons School of Design in 2003, inspired by their own vintage pieces, found objects, and art history. Here are the pieces they designed for Gap:

He was runner up for the 2008 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award and was nominated this year for the 2009 CFDA Swarovski Award for Accessory Designer of the Year.
