How to Get Rid of Hat Hair

Winter hats are so cute and cozy, but when you get inside and take them off, you’re hair is left flat or static-y.

To get some volume back, try flipping your hair upside-down, spritzing your roots with hair spray, and they combing it through with either a brush or your fingers. A travel-sized spray like Oscar Blandi Lacca Hair Spray for Volume and Hold ($11 at works best on the go.
To zap static, lightly rub a dryer sheet over your hair. Keep a few in a zipper plastic baggie in your purse for easy access! You can also use a static-free comb, like Revlon Amber Waves Iconic Anti-Static Combs ($3.99 at Walgreens) to comb away frizz.
For a super-quick fix, use the comb to move your part, which will give hair some volume cover up frizz.
To prevent hat hair from happening in the first place, use a leave-in conditioner, like Glop & Glam Creamsicle Mist Leave-In Conditioner ($14.99 at, which smells good enough to eat and makes your hair feel super soft. And don’t put your hat on when hair is wet!
