Little Black Bag is a new shopping website inspired by the traditional Japanese “Lucky Bag” concept, where shoppers purchase a bag full of designer products and trade the items among friends. Choose accessories from brands like Steve Madden, Betsey Johnson, Big Buddha, R&Em, and Kenneth Jay Lane, all up to 70% off to fill your bag, but here’s the twist: you only get to pick the first item before you buy. Don’t freak out though – you can trade unwanted items with other shoppers online for up to 6 days after buying the bag.
We tried out the site, and weren’t too thrilled with our picks at first. But we were able to trade earrings we didn’t love for a chic Street Level wallet, and one butter LONDON nail polish shade for another. All of the options definitely made the experience more fun than your typical online shopping trip! One of our favorite features of the site was how you can connect with friends and trade directly with them.
A one-time bag costs $59.95, and members can also purchase a monthly membership for $49.95 per month (you can cancel at any time). Three items for $59.95 seems like a good deal, but buyer beware – make sure you hunt down the items in your bag on other sites and make sure they’re not already on sale before you click ship. Not really loving one of the items when you finally get your little black bag in the mail? You can return it for a refund or exchange. Trade away!
